salto Safe 4028 1. General characteristics To make your windows extra secure against burglary, you should use the high security system SALTO SAFE 4028 in combination with the standard turn-tilt system SALTO 4008. The following sets are used dependent on the window dimensions: base set n 4028 for: vent width Fb=590-899 mm and vent height Fh=900-1199 mm....... page.04. vertical centre locking set n 4028-30 for vent height Fh=1200-1799 mm.. page.05. vertical centre locking set n 4028-31 for vent height Fh=1800-2400 mm.. page.05. horizontal centre locking set n 4028-34 for vent width Fb=900-1199 mm.. page.06. horizontal centre locking set n 4028-35 for vent width Fb=1200-1700 mm.. page.06. The set contains the following high security parts: stainless steel mushroom head bolts pre-riveted to zinc alloy connection pieces, which are connected to the SALTO components and rods in the vent section. zinc alloy security wedges which are fixed on the frame section with clamping plates and self-drilling screws. protection pieces close to the handle and bottom bolt. The reinforcement set n 35140-790 must always be installed (see page.07). The high security set should always be operated by a cylinder locking handle, available in 4 types (see page.08). For windows with vent width Fb=1400-1700 mm you must install the additional arm n 4008-360. The additional arm provides greater stability, especially for wide and heavy windows in tilt position. The additional arm is non-handed. All parts are made of non-corroding materials. Reinforcement set n 35140-790 For high security windows you must reinforce the top hinge with the reinforcement set n 35140-790. The M4x10 thread forming screws must fix into at least 6 mm of aluminium. Drilling jig n 35000-955 is available for drilling the holes. salto safe 4028 6. Handles throw X = 34 mm throw X = 34 mm n 4000-219 CYL n The high security system must always be operated by cylinder locking handles n 4000-... CYL. The cylinder locking handle can be locked in closed or tilt position. The same handles can also be used for side hung windows. As a result, turn-tilt windows and side hung windows can be used next to one another with the advantage of having the same appearance. Finish: handle n 4000-219 CYL and n : grip in aluminium and base in zinc alloy, always polyester powder coated (more than 450 RAL colours). handle n 4000-215 CYL and n 4000-214 CYL: grip and base in aluminium anodised or polyester powder coated (more than 450 RAL colours). salto safe 4028 8. General information The high security system SALTO SAFE 4028 can be used within the Fh/Fb sizes and weight limitations indicated on the chart below. The ratio of the dimensions Fb/Fh must not exceed the value of 1.5. The handle height should not be less than 1/3 of the vent height. Technical advise should be sought when the sizes of your window are not shown in the chart. High security wedges must be fixed on the frame section with clamping plates and self-drilling screws. Stainless steel mushroom head bolts must be adjusted so that they run free within the security wedge. For heavy, wide windows and especially for vents over 1400 mm wide the additional arm is recommended for good stability of the window in the tilt position. High security wedges or High security system SALTO SAFE 4028 is made of noncorroding materials. The set should not be installed in corrosive atmospheres. Sobinco cannot be held responsible for the malfunctioning of the high security system SALTO SAFE 4028 if any non-sobinco parts are used. Surface treatment of vent and frame must take place before assembly of the set, as this will affect the working of the gear. Glazing must be in accordance with national standards. The window and gear should be kept clean and lubricated in accordance with our maintenance instructions (copy available on request).
