Millstadt Township Meeting Minutes Sept 1, 2015 Robert Moore of Moore & Simonin, P.C. reported on the Annual Audit year ended March 31, 2015. Reports Supervisor Eckert gave his financial report. Real Estate and Replacement Tax money is coming in. Supervisor Eckert reported the Millstadt Township Structured Learning garden and Farmers Market is doing well. Millstadt Twp. Appliance recycling has been extended until the end of the year, drop off items at the Township office lot. The O Fallon educational session- It s no longer your Grandpa s Township. Everything is evolving with social media, it s online and paperless. Hy Commissioner Jarvis gave his report they are attached to these minutes. In addition at the O Fallon educational session he spoke with an attorney about transferring money between funds. Also EFT funds are being held up by the Governor. Clerk Blaha reported the deadline for Millstadt Times articles is Nov 2 for the Nov 14 issue. Clerk Blaha and Trustee Blaha attended the County Quarterly meeting held at Caseyville Township Aug 20. Guest speaker, Fairview Heights Chief of Police Nick Gailius spoke in regards to Ferguson and what was done to make this side of the river ready in case of protests broke out. All Police chiefs from the Metro East met and worked together and had 300 people trained and ready in 30 days to handle any problems. A meeting was sponsored by the Farm Bureau on farmland assessments. A Caseyville Attorney spoke on proper disposal of excess equipment. The secretary announced that Millstadt, Sugarloaf and Canteen is to host next meeting, Nov 19. Clerk Blaha notified Supervisor Eckert and he said we will not host the meeting we did the last one. Trustee Todd feels this is not the Supervisor decision it should be decided by the entire Board. Trustee Reports Trustee Mueller said there was no Senior Meeting Trustee Eckert he learned at O Fallon closed sessions need to be recorded and kept for 18 months. Trustee Blaha in a measure to increase Town funds, said that 50% of the Highway Commissioners Salary can be taken from the Permanent Road fund. It is currently 20%. Can only be set at salary time with the Highway Commissioners approval. Correspondence Supervisor Eckert reported TOIRMA saw no problem with an emergency boot drive done in the 4-way for the Senior Center if it is needed. Unfinished Business None. New Business Springfield seminar will be Nov 8-10 registration is due Oct 23. Full registration is $165.00 per person housing not included in this fee. Sign up at Oct meeting. Public Comments Marlou Eckert on behalf of the Senior Center announced Fundraisers dates for Senior Services Sept 5 & 6 Quilt and Cash bingo at Homecoming Sept 17 Bunco Party at St James Parish Center Oct 23 - Trivia Night Dec 5 Sandra Marie Bereitschaft Foundation Dinner Ms. Eckert asked the Township consider sponsoring a ½ price meal day. Also was asking for more funding to Senior Center.
