Children s Choir Rehearsals resume on Tuesday, September 8, immediately after school. Open to children, grades 3 and up, the choirs sing one Sunday every month at the 9:30 A.M. School Mass. CATHEDRAL OF ST. JUDE CATHOLIC SCHOOL HAWKS CHESS CLUB My name is Joe Giles and I will be hosting a weekly Chess Club, with instruction and practice time, at SJCS during the 2015-2016 academic years. If your child is interested, read the details below and return this participation form with a parent's or guardian's signature to school office. Parents/guardians who would like to volunteer to help or learn to play chess are also welcome Who: Chess Club is open to students in grades 1-8. Chess Club is limited to 20 students. If more than 20 students sign up for Chess Club, only the first 20 will be able to participate. Where: Parish Center When: Chess Club will start on Wednesday September 16, 2015 and meets every Wednesday from 3:15 pm until 4:15 pm (students not picked up at 4:15 pm will be taken to extended Day Care). Cost: None Our goals are to: Have fun learning to play chess, practice good sportsmanship, and prepare for the Annual School Chess Tournament. Expectations: Students who participate in Chess Club are expected to be on time, to show respect to others, and to have fun. Given that students will be at a variety of levels, more advanced students may help those with fewer skills.
