Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 4:00 PM by Michael B. Jewers, Chairperson. II. Adjustments to the Agenda III. Public Comment IV. Payroll Warrant Motion: It was moved to direct the Superintendent of Schools to authorize payment by the Town Treasurer to each party listed herein, the sum set against each name contained in School Payroll Warrant #18-4 in the amount of $114,360.55 August 17, 2017. Motioned by: Warren Steward V. Payable Warrant Motion: It was moved to direct the Superintendent of Schools to authorize payment by the Town Treasurer to each party listed herein, the sum set against each name contained in School Payable Warrant # 18-6 in the amount of $1,530.08 (FY17) and #18-7 in the amount of $20,942.30 and #18-8 in the amount of $48,022.73 (FY18) on August 17, 2017. The FY17 amount is for a late PreK bill. VI. To see if the Board will approve the Superintendent s appointment of and authorize the Superintendent s hiring of positions for the 2017-2018 school year. Superintendent to hire Debra Burleigh as an Ed Tech III at an hourly rate of $12.51. We are pleased to have her. She is close to a teaching certificate. She will be placed in Jessica Green s room at Stearns. Superintendent to hire Brandon McLaughlin as an Ed Tech III at an hourly rate of $12.51. We are pleased to have him on board. He is well-educated and has been a substitute for us. He will be placed in Katie Leavitt s room at Stearns. Superintendent to hire Colleen Cuccinello as an Ed Tech III at an hourly rate of $12.51. Seconded by: Warren Steward We are pleased to hire her. She has a teaching certificate, and she ll be placed in Lori Lincoln-Nadeau s room at Granite Street School. Page 2 of 5

Superintendent to hire Michele DiBona as a Title I Ed Tech II at an hourly rate of $12.61. Seconded by: Warren Steward She has been working with us for many years. She is getting her Ed Tech III certification at the end of the month. We are pleased to have her move to Title I. Superintendent to hire Paul Coover as a Title I Ed Tech III at an hourly rate of $16.93. He has his Bachelor s Degree, and has been working at Granite Street. We are pleased to have him move to Title I. VII. Motion: To approve the Superintendent s appointment of the following TEPG Facilitators: Amy Anderson $1,000 Heather Girsa $1,000 Heather Oakes $1,000 Matthew Waite $1,000 Motioned by: Margaret Manzo These stipends are paid with federal funds. IX. To see if the Board will authorize the Superintendent to sign an athletic agreement with East Millinocket. Motion: To authorize the Superintendent to sign an athletic agreement with East Millinocket. Motioned by: Warren Steward The two Athletic Directors and two Principals met and everything is in the agreement was discussed. Page 4 of 5

The Board discussed the cost of funding a tennis program vs paying the $150 per student cost. The Board doesn t understand why the Joint Athletic Committee doesn t meet to discuss this. If the Committee has been dissolved, they have never been notified. The Board voted to table the motion until the Joint Athletic Committee can meet. The Superintendent will discuss the meeting with the East Millinocket Superintendent. As a side note, the Superintendent reminded the Board of the State Board Meeting being held at Stearns on September 13. It is a great time to showcase our school. The Board is encouraged to attend meetings during that day. X. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 4:42 PM.
