S4C Clubs Rank First and Second in PS Color Interclub Group The PS Color Slide Division conducts Club Competitions four times throughout each competition year. There are six groups ( through F). club begins in Group F with approximately twenty other PS Clubs. t the end of the year, the five highest scoring clubs move up to the next highest group, and the five lowest scoring clubs move down. Three of the PS Clubs ranked in Group are S4C member clubs! Circle of Confusion Camera Club (Chairs: Ernie & Sue Mitchell), Los migos Camera Club (Chair: Ed Nahin, FS4C), and Pomona Valley Camera Club (Chair:, FPS, PPS, HonS4C, DFS4C) are all in Group ; with Los migos coming in first place and Pomona Valley in second place! Congratulations!! South Bay Camera Club (Chair: Richard Collier, HonS4C, DFS4C) finished in fifth place in Group B and will move to Group for the 2004-05 competition year. Glendora Color Slide Group (Chair:, PPS, S4C) began competing in PS Interclub in the 2002-03 competition year in Group F, scored the highest of all competing clubs, and was moved to Group E. This year Glendora came in second in Group E (by one point) and will move to Group D for next year. This is truly a testament to the photographic ability and PS involvement of S4C Clubs. Three S4C Clubs in PS Creative Interclub Competition The PS Color Slide Division conducts a Creative club competition three times throughout each year. Sixteen clubs participated during the 2003-04 season. The final results have been posted and Pomona Valley Camera Club (Chair: Otto Crader) finished in second place behind Dallas Camera Club (TX) by only one point! Circle of Confusion Camera Club (Chair: Bob Schneller) placed fifth. Sadly, West Valley Camera Club (Chair: Helen Jacobs) did not submit slides for the third round and finished in sixteenth place. Page 10 Two S4C-Sponsored Youth Showcase Prints in Exhibition The PS Youth Showcase judging took place on May 21. Three hundred and twenty-two (322) prints were submitted, including six prints from S4C-sponsored Whittier Christian High School. Twentyeight percent (28%) were selected for exhibition at the PS nnual Conference, September 1-5, in Minneapolis, MN. Two of the S4C-sponsored prints will be included in the exhibition. ngles by Marissa Galvez will be shown in the rchitecture section, and Remembering the Fallen by Justin Tehee will hang in the Photojournalism area. Thanks to everyone who helped with the PS Youth Showcase this first year. Congratulations Marissa and Justin! Suzanne Lombardo to Transport and File Slides for Pick-up t the May 8 S4C Board of Directors meeting, discussion was held regarding several situations. Missing slides, misplaced entry forms, slides left at the end of the day, and finger prints on slides have raised a cause for concern. To help resolve this, Suzanne Lombardo, S4C, will be the one person to transport slides during the 2004-05 competition year. She will use a basket to carry the slides. We ask that no one make a pick-up until all slides and entry forms, for the Division just judged, have been placed in the appropriate numbered box. dditionally, we ask anyone picking up slides to take a moment to verify that all slides and entry forms are theirs. Slides may be left to accumulate for pickup at the close of the competition day. ny slides left at the end of the day will be held by Suzanne until the next meeting. Suzanne will e-mail the member and the Division Chair regarding any remaining slides.
