Who would think it could be such a great trunk show? We could, since that is what Sunset Slope Quilters brought to our August meeting. Crazy, colorful, creative! What fun! Sewing machine repair and service. Marc is excited to help our community and has already begun, with many satisfied customers. You can bring your machine into Ladybugz and drop it off and after Marc is done servicing your machine he will bring it back to Ladybugz for you to pick up. Payment is cash or check only. Adobe Sharpening Floyd & Cathy Wortman have been sharpening scissors and knives in Montrose for many years. Now it may be easier for you to have your scissors sharpened. December games, potluck, Christmas FQ exchange ******************************************************************************************************* For those who would like to make community service quilts, but has a hard time quilting a large quilt on your sewing machine. Google "Leah Day". She has several videos on "Quilt as you go" block by block. FYI Barb Cencich is the care taker of the batting for community serve quilts. Just give her call or email and she can cut you a piece and bring it to the meeting for you. Cheryl Y has the labels for the community service quilts. Columbine Quilters extends our sympathy to former member Alice Hazzard and her family in the passing of her husband Lloyd. ####################################### Ingredients Strawberry Watermelon and Feta Salad 3 cups seedless watermelon, chopped in 1/2 in pieces 3 cups of sliced strawberries 1/4 of a red onion, sliced very thin 4 cups spicy arugula
Instructions 3/4 cup fresh basil (optional) 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese or more to taste 1/3 cup fruity extra virgin olive oil 1 1/2 Tablespoon Balsamic vinegar 1 tsp agave syrup or to taste Salt and pepper to taste In a large bowl, gently combine first 5 ingredients. Mix together olive oil, vinegar, and agave and taste for sweetness and dress the salad mixture.
