That's why I joined this guild - to learn from the masters. So instead, I'll dazzle you with science. The following is from coatsindustrial.com: Each needle type (system) will typically have between 6-8 sizes available and in the more popular types, there can be up to 15 sizes, with each of these needles types and sizes available with a range of needle points. Wow! And look at the parts! Frankly, I have lots of needles but had no idea of the range. If you are truly interested go to the site and look at the variations on needles points - a couple of dozen. Thanks for indulging me. See you Thursday. Please bring a bright solid fat quarter for our TAQG basket. -Maridale 1

APRIL MEETING Skills Night One of the benefits of being a member of AQG is learning from other members! Ellen R and Lynda L shared the following information when a question arose regarding stains or color runs: In a bucket of water add equal amounts (approximately ¼ C each) of Dreft soap (cannot be a detergent!) 20 mule team borax Clorox 2 bleach (Lynda likes the liquid) Mix VERY well to dissolve ingredients. Soak your item for as long as needed to release the problem spot(s). Move the item around every day or so if soaking a long time. Complete process may be repeated. A recent quilt I made required a lot of half square triangles using the same two colors. So thinking there had to be an easier way than cutting, marking and sewing all the smaller squares in the standard technique, I headed to the computer. 8 HSTs at a time yes! A wonderful site is generations-quilt-patterns.com! The illustrations and instructions, including great size charts are fabulous. A great site to explore with a wide variety of information! Look for 9 patch from 2 pieces of fabric as well that our speaker mentioned last month. Enjoy! -Lorraine M.
