SETTOP Repeater With just one internet connection, received by the integrated GPRS module, the SETTOP REPEATER will allow various users to work using a radio link, via the transmission of the corrections by the radio connected. The operator will also benefit from working with NTRIP connections in areas with low GPRS coverage.

Control Software Scheme of the main screen Autoconnection If on Internet --> Edit Connections, Autoconnect is selected, an a will appear on the main screen. Radio Status Radio not detected Radio detected Manual connection not detected Manual connection detected

GPS Status Satellites not found Satellites found Battery level GSM Status SIM not detected APN not configured GSM coverage level (1-5) VRS Repeater Connection to the NTRIP casters Settings General settings

SETTINGS: Configuration The SETTOP REPEATER setting must only be done the first time or in the event of the SIM card being changed.

RADIO Setting of the radio protocols. The communication speed is automatically configured at 38400 Baud. The radio should be configured as a transmitter. There are two radio setting screen options: Option 1: SETTOP RadioLink If the radio connected in the SETTOP Repeater is a SETTOP Radiolink, it allows one to select various broadcast formats, the power level of the radio and the radio channel. Option 2: External radio If the radio connected in the SETTOP Repeater is another one, it only allows one to select the broadcast format (TRIMTALK or TRANSPARENT) and the corresponding channel.

For example, in a PDL radio, with Trimble frequencies: Channel 0 (433.075 KHz) Channel 1 (433.100 KHz) Channel 2 (433.125 KHz) Channel 3 (433.150 KHz) Channel 4 (433.175 KHz) Channel 5 (433.200 KHz) Channel 6 (433.225 KHz) Channel 7 (433.250 KHz) Channel 8 (433.275 KHz) Channel 9 (433.300 KHz) Channel 10 (433.325 KHz) Channel 11 (433.350 KHz) If it does not detect a connected radio, it gives a message on the radio screen to the effect that it awaits connection. By pressing on the Setting icon, we can change the transmission speed of the radio upon turning off the SETTOP Repeater. This is recommended if one wants to use the radio with a GPS receiver or leave its configuration as is. Once the Repeater is turned off, the new changes will be applied. Remember to turn off the Settop Repeater by keeping the INN/OFF button pressed for a few seconds. The Manual connection allows data output to another connected device via a DB9/RS232 connector at a speed of 38400. The connector icon will appear if it finds a connected device; otherwise, will appear.

INTERNET SETUP: Configuration of the internet protocols The list of the NTRIP Casters configured will appear; by default, it is possible to enter up to 50 definitions. The caster selected will become the active one. By pressing on Add, one can create a new caster to add to the list. By pressing on Delete, one can delete the characteristics of the caster selected after being asked if one is sure of wanting to do so. After pressing on Edit, the parameters to be accepted or modified will appear. One can edit the IP, Port, user name and network access password. Enabling the Auto function allows automatic connection when the Repeater is powered. An a will appear, indicating automatic connection setup. Pressing on the the connection. button will take one directly to the VRS Repeater option so as to start

CELLULAR MODEM: Telephone configuration By default, the telephone detects the APN of the main companies of most countries. If the symbol appears, it will be necessary to enter the data supplied by the operator and enable the Manual check box. SETTOPSURVEY, S.L. Bofarull 14, 08027 Barcelona (Spain) Phone: (+34) 93 340 05 73 Fax: (+34) 93 351 95 18 www.settopsurvey.com

VRS REPEATER. User Guide When entering the VRS Repeater, the caster selected appears on the option Settings Edit Connections. Once the GPS has a position, the coordinates will appear (WGS84) on the upper left corner of the screen. Whenever there is no position calculated, the message NOT POSITION will appear. By pressing on List, the connection to the caster selected is established and the bases are downloaded.

The button (List) changes to Connect. The mount point (the reception protocol appears on the lower bar) we want is selected and we press on Connect. Once connected, the button (Connect) becomes Stop and the radio starts to transmit automatically (radio TX blinking). While it is transmitting, the upper right bar starts to fill constantly, showing the data downloading progress (*). Pressing Stop closes the connection with the caster. If Auto is activated in the Setup Edit Connections option, the SETTOP REPEATER will attempt auto connection when the battery is powered. This connection will have the same characteristic as the last one used. If is pressed, we will skip to the casters configuration page.

Service Software The updating of the Settop Repeater firmware is carried out by connecting the device to the PC by means of a system cable for powering the device and another cable, with an RS232 connection, connected to the PC. The office software Settop Repeater Service Software is executed. The connection port and baud rate are selected. When Update is pressed, the following firmware selection screen will open. The installation instructions must be followed.

NB: In the event of the firmware wanted not appearing on the list but being available elsewhere, press on Shift+Update and a dialog box will appear for one to select the file wanted. Pressing on Configure will open the following screen, which allows the inclusion, editing and/or deletion of new Casters so as to load them directly into the device. Pressing on GSM Firmware opens the screen that allows the updating of the internal telephone. Prior to using the phone, one must update the firmware of the device if possible. It is necessary to have entered the SIM card in the device as well as the telephone antenna in order to have coverage and press Configure. The Settop Repeater will automatically update the device.

Screen calibration The touch screen of the device may cease to function correctly in certain situations. In order to calibrate the touch screen, one must follow these steps: 1. Press on the touch screen with a suitable pointer. 2. At the same time, press on the ON/OFF button for a few seconds. 3. Follow the calibration steps. 4. Restart the device.

What to do if? At the time of the connection, some errors can appear due to various situations. Related to GPRS connections: 1. No error APN Cmd Operator not configured SIM card not detected The repeater does not detect the SIM card ( ). Check the card, remove the PIN code or try with another card if possible. Configuration not detected ( ). Set up your APN manually or contact the telephone operator hired. 2. ERROR 3: It is not possible to establish a GPRS connection to the defined address. The GPRS signal is not strong enough. It may be a temporary operator problem; one can also check if it is possible in another area. The address provided is not valid. Check the address syntax. 3. Error 4: It is not possible to send or receive data from the server. The SETTOP Repeater stops the communication because the signal has been interrupted, etc. Due to a reconnection system, the SETTOP Repeater will start the operation again. Wait. Related to caster protocol

4. ERROR 5: The following message will appear if the user name or password is not valid. The caster informs us that the user name or password is not correct. Verify user name and password.. 5. ERROR 6: Base not found The caster shows in the list that the base is not active. Try the connection with another base from the list given. 6. The message Auth required will appear in red if you are trying to connect to a caster without entering a user name or password and this is required for authentication. Related to the hardware device

7. The touch screen does not respond well. Try to calibrate the screen again; see section Service Software > Screen calibration 8. The receiver fails to receive radio signals. Check that you have selected the correct cannel and protocol in the mobile receiver. 9. The radio fails to transmit (TX), although the connection has apparently been correctly made. Check the connection of the cables, the situation of the antenna, the battery power. Restart the device.
