Vítor Marques da Cruz Vitor Marques da Cruz is the founding partner of Portuguese law office MC&A specialized in legal advice to international transactions, namely to Portuguese-speaking countries markets. Vitor is experienced in Business Law, including M&A major operations and corporate transactions and highly specialized in Financial and Banking Law. He focuses in providing advice to a great number of government departments and international companies in Portugal, Angola and Mozambique, being cited in several Handbooks and Global Counsels as one of the top business lawyers in Portugal acting in the African business market. He graduated at the Law School of the University of Lisbon in 1982, where he also was Assistant Professor of Public Financial Law. He holds a post-graduation in European Law at the School of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University. Vitor is a frequent speaker at events on the investment in the African market, having participated in numerous international conferences and seminars to publicize the specificities and business opportunities in countries such as Angola, Mozambique, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe, among others. Paulo Valois Paulo Valois Pires is partner of Schmidt, Valois, Miranda, Ferreira & Agel. He started his career in 1989 as in-house counsel for Shell in Brazil. His practice involves the representation of IOCs, NOCs, private equities, financial institutions and suppliers in O&G, M&A, private placements, offshore supply, pipeline construction, LNG projects, infrastructure, and tax related matters. He represents international and domestic clients in international tenders for the divestment of onshore and offshore blocks, and also in complex bidding procedures for the charter of FPSOs, FSRUs, and FSOs. He graduated in law at the University of State of Rio de Janeiro (1988) and holds Post-graduate diploma in International Law by the Université Robert Schuman, Strasbourg, France: Certificat des Hautes Études Européennes (1992). He also holds a Master s degree in International Law from the University of São Paulo, Brazil (1999) and a Master s degree in Petroleum Business from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/COPPE (1999). Paulo Valois Pires is the author of the book The Evolution of the Oil State Monopoly (2000) as well as of several articles published in lo- cal and international magazines. He was appointed Vice-President of O&G of the Brazilian Mediation and Arbitration Center (CBMA) in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and he is member of the AIPN and a former deputy director of AIPN Latin America Chapter. Rogério Miranda For more than 25 years, Rogério Miranda has developed a legal practice focused on business law, representing clients in local and international transactions related to natural resources and infrastructure projects, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate matters, international contracts and project finance, amongst others.
