NMQA s February Workshop and Program hosts Cheryl Sleboda - for a workshop entitled Fabulous Fabric Manipulations on Sunday, February 24th. At the Monday, February 25, evening meeting at 6:30pm the program will be: Be a Little Weird and Be a Better Quilter! Fabric manipulation is the most fun one can have at a sewing machine. Actually, when you think about it, everything done at the sewing machine is fabric manipulation-- especially patchwork and garment sewing. We turning pieces of fabric

into entirely new fabric, or a one-dimensional piece of cloth into a three-dimensional object. Common "manipulation techniques include of pin tucks, gathers, smocking, and texturizing techniques. What will Cheryl show us? If you google fabric manipulation techniques, you will find tons of sites to whet your appetite. And Cheryl has a wonderful website and blog at: http://muppin.com/wordpress/. Come and see what we encounter. Art is everywhere in the Village of Corrales. This month... SOMETHING DIFFERENT!: Arts Alive!--at the Brewery and More. This Sunday, Jan 27th, Corrales MainStreet is offering residents and visitors a first look at the new, almost completed ExNovo Brewery located on Corrales Road. In addition to viewing the manufacturing facility, the soon-to-be renovated tap room area (formerly Jitters and Junk Coffee Bar) will be open. Joel Gregory, owner, promises that all your questions will be answered. The Corrales Society of Artists will display the work of many of our finest artists inside the very spacious brewery building. As visitors enjoy the displays, they can enjoy small beer samples provided by ExNovo (although the beer will be from Bosque Brewery since ExNovo will not yet be brewing). A food truck will offer a variety of lunch items. Where: 30 minutes from ABQ and 10 minutes from Rio Rancho on SR 448, Corrales Road. Look for the colored blinking lights and starbursts as you travel along Corrales Road. Maps will be available everywhere and more information is on the Corrales Arts Alive! Facebook page.
