Part 1 - How to use this guide Welcome, and thank you, for choosing YOU. Journaling is such a big part of my life. At the time of writing, I have been doing some form of journaling for about 10 years. I haven t always called it journaling. Sometimes it feels more like mapping out my big ideas, dreams, and goals. Sometimes it is a way for me to simply connect with myself. More often than not, I use it to manifest all my goals - big and small. To put it simply, I write my reality into existence. Journaling doesn t have to be a chore - another thing you add to your list that you soon forget about. It should fuel your soul. It should lighten the load. And it should enlighten and empower you to be more of who you really are. I advise journaling daily for maintaining a state of clarity and purpose in life, but you don t have to do it for hours on end. 10 minutes a day is enough to give you clarity and purpose that can dramatically change your life. I recommend getting into a clear headspace, where you are writing from the heart rather than the mind. Your mind likes to complicate things and over-analyse everything, which leads you to further complicate and over-analyse things. Journaling shouldn t be a drag, so take a few slow full breaths, and if in doubt, ask your heart the journaling prompts, and allow your heart to respond. The moment your mind takes over is the moment you lose clarity. You will receive incredible insights when you are tuning into your heart. Once you take a moment to get into the zone, pick one or two prompts, and see what comes out! Old fashioned pen to paper is best, because the information goes through a nice loop from your heart, to physically writing, to then you reading it with your mind. Typing is perfectly fine if you re short on time and can type fast. Sometimes this is really good, because if you re like me and type super fast, your mind doesn t even get a chance to catch up. 2
However you do it, take a moment to read through it afterwards so that you can take it all in. And if you were so deep in the zone that you were somewhere else altogether, read it again later in the day. There is no right time of day for journaling, although morning is great to get your day off to a good start. The best time of day for journaling is the time that you can do it. Remember, there are no rules about journaling. Do what feels right for you. Reword any of my prompts as you please. Ask yourself the same question over and over again. Ignore some questions. Ask them all in one day. Take a year to get through them all. Have conversations with yourself by probing further. Do whatever feels best! 3
