He married Guertje Harmens Coerten about 1668. Guertje was born in Voorthuysen, Gelder Land, Holland. Guertje was the daughter of Harmen Coerten and Aertje Gerrits. Guertje died after June, 1708 in Staten Island, Richmond, New York. Hendrick Matthysen Smock and Guertje Harmens Coerten had the following children: 2 i. Mattys Hendrickse 2 Smock was born in New Utrecht, Long Island, New York about 1669. Mattys died 1727 at 58 years of age. He married Elizabeth Smalle Stevens in New York, September 12, 1701. Mattys and Elizabeth had eight children. 3 ii. Maretje Hendrickse Smock was born in New Utrecht, Long Island, New York about 1670. She married Jacques Cortelyou, Jr. October 4, 1685. *4 iii. John died February 26, 1808 in Holmdel, Monmouth, New Jersey, at 81 years of age. His body was interred in Colts Neck, Monmouth, New Jersey, Smock Burying Ground. He married Elizabeth Cowenhoven in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey, May 7, 1747. Elizabeth was born March 18, 1725. Elizabeth was the daughter of Joris Van Couwenhoven and Altje Luyster. Elizabeth died May 7, 1812 in Holmdel, Monmouth, New Jersey, at 87 years of age. Her body was interred in Colts Neck, Monmouth, New Jersey, Smock Burying Ground. Lt. Col. Cornelia was born in Middletown, Monmouth, New Jersey November 27, 1815. Cornelia was the daughter of Joseph Stillwell, Jr. and Theodosia Gaskell. John 4, Hendrick 3, Johannes Hendrickse 2, Hendrick Matthysen 1 ) was born in Holmdel, Monmouth, New Jersey February 4, 1835. Nelson died April 2, 1923 in Eatontown, Monmouth, New Jersey, at 88 years of age. Nelson was in the Civil War in 1862 and 1863 as a Private in Company G, 29th Infantry, Division from New Jersey with many of his cousins, in-laws, etc. He married Catherine Walton in Atlantic Township, Monmouth, New Jersey, February 17, 1861. Catherine was born in Atlantic Township, Monmouth, New Jersey September 8, 1838. Catherine was the daughter of John L. Walton and Elinor Wilson. Catherine died December 12, 1903 in Eatontown, Monmouth, New Jersey, at 65 years of age. Nelson Smock and Catherine Walton had the following children: 46 i. Mariah W. 8 Smock was born in Tinton Falls, Monmouth, New Jersey July 27, 1862. Mariah died October 24, 1924 at 62 years of age. She married John Aumack January 28, 1885.
