This event happens Saturday night when the general public will have a chance to experience the 47th. The artist chosen during the event will be included in a collection of work that will be on display for the Summer of Glass at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art in Fort Wayne, Indiana. 25 artists in total will be chosen for this exhibition. We then travel to U of M Dearborn for lunch and to experience the Global Glass: Survey of Form & Function Touring exhibition. Our next stop is to the Toldeo Museum of Art to see their new acquisitions, including a new Amber Cowan, a demo by Joseph Ivacic and the recently restored display of 30 works along with the 3500 year chronology of glass. We next will visit the collection of a local Toledo collector on our way back to the hotel. At 8:00 pm you will experience the Grand Opening of the 47th International Glass Invitational and vote for your favorite artist.the public s choice winner will be part of a museum exhibition. The Flint Institute of Art opened an immense glass art installation in 2018 that is one of the best ever seen. www.flintarts.org Also, the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation opened two displays over the last two years exhibiting the collection of Bruce and Ann Bachmann. The display in the museum offers a history of glass making and the one in Greenfield Village shares the story of glass making in America.
