January February 2019 A Place to Learn, Share & Be Creative Market Days Our next Market Days will be January 7 19. Market Days are days when you get to bring in your unwanted items for knitting, crocheting, spinning and weaving and sell them in exchange for store credit. Cost is only $5...no matter how many items you bring in. Go to our website and print out a sheet of our NEW market day tags to fill out. Be sure to put your initials in the corner so we ll know who sold each item. You ll have the option on the tag to reduce the cost on week 2 if you choose. Then put each item in a Ziploc bag along with the tag. Bring in the items you wish to sell during January 2-5. On Monday, January 21 you can come by and get any remaining items that haven t sold as well as your store credit certificate. Items bought during our Market Days need to be paid with cash or a check. There are always some great buys during our Market Days, so be sure to come take a look and find some great treasures. January KAL/CAL January will start off with a knit-a-long/crochet-a-long. This KAL/CAL celebrates kindness in action. Give your finished shawl to a friend or someone who needs comfort, donate your time or money to help those in need, and/or use your time working on this shawl to think of ways you can reach out and help lift people up. There is enough negativity in the world. Let s join together to help make it a kinder place to live. For Knitters The Kindness Shawl takes 1 skein of a solid/semi-solid and 1 skein that is speckled. Pattern calls for sport/dk weight, but you could also use a fingering weight and use size 5 needles instead of size 6. For Crocheters The Picnic Basket Shawl is a lovely lace shawl that will be beautiful in either a solid/semi-solid or a variegated colorway. It takes 2 skeins of a fingering weight yarn. I hope you ll join us as we knit and crochet together this month. Be sure to bring in your finished project and let us take a picture of it. Then you ll be entered into a drawing for a great prize!

2019 is the Year of Thank You... I appreciate those of you who have supported The Yarn Haven for the past almost 12 years. So I ve decided that this year I m going to say thank you with a monthly door prize. Each day you make a purchase, your name will be entered into our monthly drawing. So come in often during the month to have a better chance of winning! We ll announce the winner in the first email of each month. Weekly Classes... We have Weekly Classes mornings, afternoons, and on the evenings we are open. Mimi s classes are for knitters & Kelora s classes are for knitters OR crocheters. If you need help with a project or just want to start a new project with someone giving you help each step along the way, then come join one of our Weekly Classes. Classes are $12.50/class, but if you sign up for a block of classes before the month begins, you get a discounted price of $10.00/class. Be sure to call the shop to make sure we have room in the class for you to join us. Our weekly classes meet: Monday evenings (6-8 pm) - Knit only Tuesday mornings (10 am Noon) Knit OR Crochet Tuesday afternoons (1-3 pm) - Knit OR Crochet Wednesday mornings (10 am Noon) - Knit only Wednesday afternoons (1-3 pm) - Knit only Thursday mornings (10 am Noon) - Knit OR Crochet Thursday afternoons (1-3 pm) - Knit OR Crochet Thursday evenings (6-8 pm) - Knit only Friday mornings (10 am Noon) - Knit only Friday afternoons (1-3 pm) - Knit only If you want to drop in for a class that you have not paid for, then please call the shop first to see if there is room.
