Further to the issue of document GC 25/L.2 entitled Progress Report on the Fifth Replenishment of IFD s Resources (dated 9 January 2001), which showed the status of contributions to the Fifth Replenishment of IFD s Resources as at 31 December 2001, a pledge amounting to USD 300 000 was received from Ghana. 2. With the above-mentioned receipts, cumulative cash and promissory notes received as of 12 February 2002 increased to USD 153.6 million or 35.2% of total pledges of USD 436.2 million. 4. s of 12 February 2002, instruments of contribution amounting to the equivalent of USD 275.3 million had been deposited with the Fund. Collectively, as of 12 February 2002, instruments of contribution and payments in cash or promissory notes against pledges not supported by an instrument of contribution but accounted for in lieu of instruments of contribution amounted to the equivalent of USD 282.3 million or 64.7% of total pledges under the Fifth Replenishment. Document #: 11103 Library:DMS Due to resource constraints and environmental concerns, IFD documents are produced in limited quantities. Delegates are kindly requested to bring their documents to meetings and to limit requests for additional copies.

Under complementary contributions to the Fifth Replenishment of IFD s Resources, Germany and Italy have pledged the EUR equivalents of USD 8.0 million and USD 3.8 million, respectively, as complementary contributions to the Fifth Replenishment under the Debt Initiative for Heavily Indebted Poor Countries. 6. Consequently, the combined complementary pledges recorded under the Fifth Replenishment of IFD s Resources from Belgium, Germany and Italy total the equivalent of USD 27.4 million as of 12 February 2002. 7. Furthermore, two payments were received against the complementary contributions of Belgium and Germany to the Fifth Replenishment, namely, a promissory note in an EUR amount equivalent to USD 3.9 million from Belgium and a cash payment of USD 2.7 million from Germany. 8. With these payments, total cash and promissory notes received against complementary contributions to the Fifth Replenishment increased to the equivalent of USD 17.4 million, representing 64% of total complementary pledges. 9. The attached revised statements indicate the status of contributions to the Fifth Replenishment of IFD s Resources as at 12 February 2002. 2
