Pledge of Allegiance Led by Chair Bonnie Davis-Micue. 3. Declaration of Quorum A quorum was declared with 777 votes out of 1000 possible votes. 4. Adjustments to the Agenda- Superintendent Pamela Carnahan asked for an adjustment to the agenda under Action Items Nominations: add SAT Sarah Crosby at Union. Executive sessions will be handled as people become available; nomination of the high school guidance counselor will be taken after approval of the minutes. B. Board Recognition of Students or Program Superintendent Pamela Carnahan recognized Caleb Philbrook for all of his academic and athletic awards he has gathered this fall. II. AUDIENCE WITH THE PUBLIC Director Danny Jackson commented on the High School Fall sports awards program and recognized the high level of team membership that was exhibited by our students. Two of our coaches were recognized as KVAC coaches of the year: Mr. George Gould and Mr. Butch Taylor. III. REPORTS FROM PARENT-TEACHER GROUPS AND STUDENT COUNCILS : No reports IV. CONSENT AGENDA A. Minutes Oct. 2, 2008. Director Cunningham moved, and Director Jackson seconded to accept October 2, 2008 minutes with changes. A. Superintendent Report: Prescott s board meeting will be Dec. 18, 2008. The Nov. 20, 2008 board meeting will be at Region 8, and the meeting scheduled to be at Union on Dec. 18, 2008 will be moved to April 16, 2009. Superintendent Pamela Carnahan shared a memo to the board on projects that she felt need to be considered for the future. The memo will be placed on the agenda for the Nov. 20, 2008 board meeting. Chairs Report: A special board meeting will be held on Nov. 13, 2008 to discuss the qualities the Board is seeking in the next superintendent and to complete any unfinished agenda items. VI. REPORTS FROM SCHOOLS: No reports VII. ACTION ITEMS A. Nominations 1. Michelle McAnaney Director Carl Cunningham moved to accept the nomination of Michelle McAnaney as High School Guidance Counselor. Director Danny Jackson seconded. 2. Joan E. Ridgeway Director Gail Hawes moved to accept the nomination of Joan E. Ridgeway as 6 th grade teacher at union. Director Ron Dolloff seconded. Executive Session 5: MRSA 405 (6) (A): Director Cunningham moved and Director Jackson seconded to move into executive session. The board moved into executive session at 7:20 pm and exited the executive session at 9:16 pm. Action as a Result of Executive Session: No action. Executive Session 2: MRSA 405 (6) (B) Director Carl Cunningham moved and Director Danny Jackson seconded move to go into executive session on a student matter.
