THE DIGGER A Publication of Midwest Historical Detector Club Omaha, Nebraska Volume 33 Issue 9 MINUTES OF THE September 8, 2010 MEETING OF THE MIDWEST HISTORICAL DETECTOR CLUB The meeting was called to order by President Jim Marshall. The pledge of allegiance was observed. Guest were Paul and Joan Tainter. August Meeting minutes were read by fill in Jim Ferraguti. Jim Marshall read the winners from the monthly displays drawings. Motions for meeting minutes were accepted. John Benner gave the treasurers report and stated we have made a little back on raffles we have at the yearly X-mas Party. Motions were accepted for treasures report. Jim M. mentioned article in monthly newsletter about digging and filling holes. Motion to keep ticket sales for Club Coin Set to end of year. Will keep selling tickets at monthly meetings and then at the Xmas dinner. Winner will be drawn for at the Christmas Dinner. Steve Wymore reported metal detectors sales are up from TV show John Tedeshi. John Benner still has Minelab detector for sale. (See more info in this newsletter). Jim Marshall suggested meeting in a local park to have a GROUP HUNT with New and Experienced Hunters. A meeting place discussed was memorial and Elmwood Parks. A date is set for Saturday September 25th. It was then RESET for SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 26TH AT ELMWOOD PARK AT 11:00a.m. in east parking lot. (Flyers have been emailed out to everyone on the e-mail listing and will be placed on our website as well.) Harry reported, John Benner's wife Doris made the Omaha World Herald on an article about the Senior Center Artist in Papillion The article was about the members of the Center and their works. Al Johnson reminded anyone participating in the hunt at Elmwood to have Park Permits handy. Jim Marshall talked about a day in the field he had. Old coins were found very shallow. Harry commented about detecting with the ID machines. He made some great points. The can was passed around. Harry had a very interesting WHAT'S IT. Meeting was concluded with the announcement of the winners from door and ticket prizes by Al.

Instruction CD, carrying case, operators manual, and pin pointer. Battery case with charger and a regular battery holder. No headphones. The machine is three {3} years old but NOT used to often.
