AND Present: Exploring Health Market Opportunities to Conference AGENDA Western Development Museum, Saskatoon, SK October 19 th - 20 th, 2015
Welcome The Chamber is committed to making Saskatoon the best business climate in Canada. Our Values: Free enterprise, ethical business practices, and Commitment to community. The journey begins with one step. - Lao Tzu Thank you for attending the 2020 Health Vision Conference Series, Getting to Great! Thank you to all of our sponsors and organizing committee members who have dedicated themselves to making this happen, it is truly appreciated. Getting to Great, what does that mean and what does it take? This conference creates collisions among financiers, entrepreneurs, researchers, clinicians, health services, government, and the next generation of professional students to explore the dimensions of these two questions. We believe that Saskatoon and Saskatchewan have unique talents, infrastructure, and capabilities that begin to translate discoveries and research among our fine institutions into economic opportunities. It s innovation that can shift paradigms, bend cost curves and create economic opportunities. This conference can encourage the entrepreneurial mindset and take leadership to create the ecosystem to realize our innovative potential. 10-20-200 is our goal: In the next 10 years, 20 high growth companies will be created with 200 high paying jobs. This will translate into $30 million in payroll, and $300 million to $3 billion in economic spin-offs. This will create a critical mass necessary for growing a new sector for our economy. Health is a $7 trillion market worldwide and the world needs innovative products, services and solutions. Now is the time to set the course. On behalf of the Health Opportunities Committee of The Chamber, Corey Miller, Dave Dutchak and Sanj Singh Honourary Chair This year s honourary chair is Dr. Jenny Basran. 1
