Position the Dad and Narrator on the left; the Disciples (Andrew, Peter and John) in the center; and Jesus and the Boy on the right side of the stage. Narrator: When Jesus and his friends came down the mountain, they saw a huge crowd waiting for them. Peter: Huh, John, I wonder what s going on? John: I don t know, Peter! Let s find out! Narrator: Just then, a man from the crowd and knelt before Jesus. Dad: O Lord! Help my son! He s suffering so much! Jesus: What s the problem? Dad: There s a demon inside him! And sometimes it makes him hit himself! Boy: (Hit yourself in the head repeatedly) Dad: It makes him jump into fire! Boy: (Screaming) Ah! Ah! Dad: And it throws him into the water! Boy: Blub..blub..blub blub Dad: It makes him foam at the mouth Boy: (Spray the whipped cream in your mouth and then spit it out. Or make gargling noise.) Dad: He gets stiff Boy: (Get stiff) Dad: grinds his teeth Boy: (Grind teeth) Dad: and he can t talk Boy: (Open and close your mouth) Dad: He can only scream! Boy: (Scream!)

BIBLE LESSON SKIT (PAGE 2) lesson 21 Dad: He throws himself on the ground Boy: (Fall on the ground and then get up) Dad: again Boy: (Fall on the ground and then get up) Dad: and again Boy: (Fall on the ground and then get up) Dad: and again Boy: (Look all dizzy and beat up) Dad: I asked your disciples to help. Andrew: We tried our hardest, Jesus Dad: But they couldn t do anything. Andrew: Sorry about that Jesus: (Shaking your head and sighing) You stubborn, faithless people! Andrew: Uh-oh. Peter: He doesn t sound too happy. John: No, he doesn t. Jesus: How long is it gonna take before you BELIEVE?! How long do I have to put up with you? Bring me the boy. Narrator: As soon as they brought the boy to Jesus, the demon saw the Lord and threw the boy to the ground. Boy: (Fall down) Narrator: It made him roll back and forth Boy: (Roll back and forth) Narrator: All the while, foaming at the mouth Boy: (Spray the whipped cream in your mouth and then spit it out at the Narrator or make gargling sound.) Jesus: Hm how long has all this been going on? Dad: Ever since he was a little boy. Please help us! If there s anything you can do

BIBLE LESSON SKIT (PAGE 3) lesson 21 Jesus: (Angrily!) IF!...What do you mean IF?! Nothing is impossible for those who believe! Dad: I do believe, Jesus! Help me get rid of my doubts! Narrator: About then, the crowd was coming closer. When Jesus saw that, he said to the demon Jesus: You deaf and mute spirit! Get out of that boy! And never go into him again! Boy: (Scream!) Narrator: And made the boy totally spazz out. Boy: (Roll back and forth) Narrator: He dropped and flopped and flipped and twisted around more than ever before! Boy: (Go nuts!) Narrator: And then the boy looked just like a corpse. Boy: (Stick your arms and legs into the air like a road-killed possum) Peter: I think he s dead. John: Me, too. Andrew: (Feel the Boy s pulse) Yup. Definitely dead. Narrator: But then, Jesus reached out his hand and helped the boy to his feet--- Jesus: (Take the Boy s hand and help him stand up) Peter: Um he doesn t look very dead to me Boy: (Do 5 jumping jacks!) John: Me, neither. Andrew: Nope, I guess not. Narrator: The boy was fine! Boy: (All smiles!) Dad: Thank you, Jesus! Jesus: You re welcome! Narrator: Later, when the disciples were alone with Jesus, they asked him about the miracle. Andrew: Um, Jesus?

BIBLE LESSON SKIT (PAGE 4) lesson 21 Jesus: Yes? Andrew: Why couldn t we make the demon go away? Jesus: You didn t have enough faith. And you need to learn to pray more. With even a tiny speck of faith you could tell this mountain to hop up and walk down the street. Peter: Whoa. John: Cool. Andrew: No kidding. Jesus: That s the kind of faith I want you to have. Narrator: Everyone who saw what Jesus had done was amazed and they learned a lot about faith that day, too. Everyone: (Together) The end! GAME lesson 21 GAME OBJECTIVE: FAITH TRUST WALK Lead your teammate to the end of the room using only your voice. MATERIALS BROUGHT BY TEAM Blindfolds Chairs or other obstacles INSTRUCTIONS Arrange the chairs like an obstacle course. Split everyone into two equally numbered teams. Ask for one volunteer from each team to go first. Explain that the object of the game is to lead the volunteers to the end of the room using only their voices. The members of the team can walk alongside the volunteer and provide directions. However, the opposing team can also try to trick the other volunteer by giving false direction. The volunteer that reaches the end of the room the first wins a point for their team. If a volunteer touches or runs into a chair, then the person takes off his or her blindfold and is out for the round. Blindfold the two volunteers. Spin the volunteers two or three times and start the game. Have the group members tell their volunteers instructions. Once the round is over, ask for another volunteer from each team to go next. This goes on until a team reaches five points and wins the game. SIMPLIFIED GAME OPTIONS Have teams hold hands and close their eyes. The leader keeps eyes open and leads the team through obstacles. Have teams hold hands and close their eyes. A mission team leader keeps eyes open and leads team through obstacles.
