mass flowmeter for compressed air VARIOMASS MF High End electronic for air measurement & analyse - 1 -
The VARIOMASS flow meter for compressed air is a comfortable system for air mass flow measurement, which consists of a thermal dispersion sensor and the remote electronic. Customers can use it for accurate compressed air mass flow measurements line size between ½ up to 2 as In-Line sensor with a complete flow body. Furthermore allows it the employment for pipe sizes from 65 mm up to 500 mm as an insertion sensor. Compared with the reliable VARIOMASS air mass flow measurement system do we supply a new field electronic called VARIOMASS MF, which allows simultaneous signal processing of 1 up to 4 sensors. The 4 inputs can use with 4 different mass flow sensors and are moreover able to determine other inputs such as temperature, pressure, relative humidity or dew point sensor. There exist analog and digital outputs for every sensor. The LCD display can simultaneously show for each channel the actual and total flow values. An integrated data logger to determine the current gas mass flow and consumption values is optionally available. This data logger can be read out with a serial interface by using the software VARLOG II. Besides the analog outputs we can supply a pulse output, two programmable relay contacts and digital interfaces like RS 232 and RS 485 optionally available. We additionally supply a digital input that can for example be used for recording the load and unloaded condition of one compressor. The big graphic display (dimensions B*H: 120*65 mm) may also be used for short time online recordings on every channel. This diagram works independent of the data logger and serves to control. The scale takes places over the full scale value of the input channel and dimension. The time period is fixed for about 30 minutes. Every channel can easily be chosen via the keyboard. The clear structured of the menu facilitates the use. A new achievement in the operation is the directly start of the data logger without input of start and stop time. The two counters were extended of the 12 totalizer that can record the air mass consumption per year for each month. A new function for an automatically zero adjustment has been added too. The insertion sensor (here with the option ball valve retractor assembly) can be chosen to measure the air mass consumption in pipe sizes from 65 mm up to 300 mm as sensor for input channel number one. fig.1): Insertion meter with option BVR ½ (ball valve retractor assembly) Additionally or alternatively In-Line sensors with fixed flow body for pipe sizes from ½ up to 2 (50 mm) can be chosen. Optionally is an integrated flow straighter with two plates with wholes for these In-Line sensors available. These can be used for short up and downstream area or for mobile measurements. The advantage of these In-Line sensors is higher measurement accuracy at small pipe diameters. - 2 -

SOFTWARE The software VARLOG II will be delivered with the optional data logger. This program, which is based on MS Windows, can read out the saved data at the data logger of MF electronics with the serial interface. Besides this, the program is able to display the data as a diagram over the time. Furthermore is the user able to set the data logger in the device with this software. The memory of 8 MB is able to record the values in the device as long as 12 months at a chosen record time for each value every 60 seconds. At an insert of maximum numbers of sensors up to 5graphics (for example mass flow) can be represented on one mask. All graphics can be printed directly or the data can be exported to MS EXCEL or MS WORD. - 7 -
