SPEAKER BIOS SISTER JUDITH ANN has been a member of the Congregation since 1965. Sister served on the Governing Board of the Congregation from 1994-2006. She was elected Major Superior of The Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis and became Chairperson of OSF Healthcare System Board of Directors in October 2006 and holds these positions to the present. She was elected to the Board of Directors of OSF Healthcare System in 1989. Sister was also appointed Chairperson of OSF Healthcare Foundation in 2000 and OSF Saint Francis Inc. in 2006. Sister served as President of OSF Healthcare System 2000 to 2006. She is the former Treasurer of the Congregation and the Corporation (1989-2000). In 1988 Sister was appointed the Coordinator of the Ministry Development Program for Leadership and Key Management Personnel throughout the Corporation, and holds that position to the present. Previously, she served as the Congregation s Assistant Treasurer (1987-1988). Sister was Director of Formation for the Congregation (1982-1987) and the Congregation s Director of Recruitment and Public Relations (1973-1982). Sister Judith Ann is a registered nurse and has a B. S. Degree in Nursing from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois; a Master of Arts in Catholic Doctrine from the Pontifical Institute at St. John s University, New York, New York, and a BS in Business Management and Administration from Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois. Sister has also been a member of the Community Advisory Board of the Children s Hospital of Illinois at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois, since 1998. TANNER CORBRIDGE is a Partner and Practice Leader for Partners In Leadership and serves as a member of the Field Leadership Team, where he actively participates in content authorship and curriculum development efforts. He oversees the area office in Atlanta, Georgia and client engagements throughout the southeast. Tanner has led large scale, multi-year transformation projects with Fortune 1000 clients across numerous global industries, with extensive experience in leading healthcare, pharmaceutical, and hospital related projects. For well over a decade, Tanner has strategized with CEOs and executive teams throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Tanner s consulting and integration experience positions him as a long-term partner on many of the firm s high-profile client projects. His client consulting and training projects include multi-year engagements with companies like Align Technology, Inc., Arby s, Avery Dennison, Baxter, Char-Broil, Hormel, HCA (Hospital Corporation of America), Johnson Controls, Kimberly-Clark, Ocean Spray, Sears Holdings Corporation, Turner Broadcasting System, Inc., UCB, and Windstream. In each of these projects Tanner has worked with the executive leadership teams, led project teams to enroll the employee base, and then consulted around more long-term Train. Retain. Sustain. efforts. Tanner has also consulted with numerous healthcare plans across the country. His work with the largest single-state insurer in the country helped to produce historic results as the organization experienced transformative change, moving from being ranked 32 nd out of 39 plans to being ranked as number one out of all plans in the nation. Tanner s client successes have been published in numerous forums, including turnaround efforts at Ocean Spray in Training magazine and OSF Home Health s turnaround by the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Tanner regularly serves as a keynote speaker for major conferences and events, including numerous ATD and SHRM events throughout the United States. Tanner is also a featured speaker for long-standing clients, like Arby s, where he is regularly called upon to address their annual conferences. Tanner received his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University and his MBA from the University of Missouri. Tanner has lived abroad and is proficient in the Spanish language.
STEPHEN E. HIPPLER, MD is the Chief Clinical Officer for OSF Healthcare. Dr. Hippler started with OSF in 1988, when he joined the Medical Staff at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center. Since then, he has held several leadership roles throughout his career with OSF, most recently serving as the Senior Vice President of Clinical Excellence for the Ministry and as Vice President for Quality and Clinical Programs for OSF Medical Group. In these roles, Dr. Hippler has led some significant initiatives, including the development and execution of the Clinical Agenda; development and implementation of a Holistic Care Model for Clinical Programs; overseeing Ministry-wide Quality Performance and Safety reporting; transformation of office practices to an accountable care model; and steering the Community Health Needs Assessment & Implementation Plan. In addition Steve is clinical assistant professor for the Division of Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois in Peoria, a former Board Member Easter Seals; and currently serves on the Boards of United Way and the Peoria County Health Department Dr. Hippler received his undergraduate degree at Millikin University in Decatur, IL, and then earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Dr. Hippler is board certified in internal medicine and a fellow of the American College of Physicians. JOE MULL, M.Ed works with healthcare organizations that want their leaders to engage, inspire, and succeed. Prior to launching his own firm, Joe was head of Learning and Development for Physician Services at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, a U.S. News and World Reports Top 10 Hospital and Healthcare System. In his role Joe directed learning strategy and implementation for one of the largest physician groups in the United States: over 9,000 employees across more than 500 clinical locations. In 2014, he published his first book: Cure for the Common Leader: What Physicians & Managers Must Do to Engage and Inspire Healthcare Teams. Called one of the most practical healthcare leadership books you will ever read, Cure for the Common leader translates the latest research on employee engagement into 7 actions healthcare leaders must take to engineer teams that work hard, get along, and wow patients. Resoundingly characterized by audiences as captivating, insightful, and inspiring, Joe has trained more than 30,000 people over a 15+ year career. His reputation for avoiding leadership mumbo-jumbo and instead teaching specific, practical, actionable strategies to audiences has given him the opportunity to work with leaders and teams in every aspect of healthcare administration and delivery. With his focus on developing managers in outpatient settings, he is in demand as a speaker and trainer on leadership and employee engagement in healthcare. Joe has taught leadership courses at Ohio University and the University of Pittsburgh, has trained with the Disney Business Institute, and is a member of the National Speakers Association. Joe is also a Certified MBTI Practitioner and holds a Master s degree from Ohio University. He resides in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA with his wife and children.
GERALD R. MCSHANE, MD, BOARD MEMBER, PRESIDENT & CEO/ OSF MEDICAL GROUP, was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Corporation September 1, 1996. He has served as President (formerly Director) of the OSF Medical Group since May 1, 1999 and was previously the Director, OSF Medical Group, Central Illinois Region (1996-1999). He has also served the Corporation as its Corporate Director of Medical Services since June of 2003. Dr. McShane holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana (1971) and a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine (1975). Dr. McShane received his residency training at the University of Michigan in Internal Medicine (1975-1976) and at Saint Francis Medical Center in Internal Medicine (1976-1979). He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (1978) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Geriatric Medicine (1988-1998). Dr. McShane serves as a member of the Corporation s Ethics Committee and is Chairperson of the Ethics Committee of Saint Francis Medical Center. He serves on the faculty of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine (1980-Present). ABOUT JARED JONES In his role as Partner and Practice Leader for Partners In Leadership, Jared has consulted with healthcare leaders in some of the world s most successful non-profit, for profit and governmental organizations. Jared worked with Apple, Inc. to help design and use Partners In Leadership s Accountability Training with the rollout of their highly successful Apple Retail Store strategy. Jared is uniquely talented in leading groups as large as 2,000 participants with vast experience in cities all over the world, including Prague, Amsterdam, Geneva, London, and every major city in the United States. In addition to his extensive consulting work with clients, Jared is frequently featured as a favorite keynote speaker at large corporate retreats and national sales meetings.
