Directions for attaching the stitched Geisha as shown on Sudberry CD l. Select fabric to frame the Geisha. (We used Oriental Gardens by Artistic Expressions, purchased at JoAnn s Fabrics) 2. The following measurements are for the 14ct. Geisha. Adjust length for 16 and 18 ct. 3. a. Cut 2 strips of fabric 2 x 12 b. Cut 1 strip of fabric 2 x 9 c. Cut 1 piece of fabric 8 x 8 4. On ironing board, fold raw edges of strips toward each other wrong sides together and iron down. You now will have a 1 binding on the three strips in steps 3a&3b. On the b. strip fold ends in ¼ and press. 5. To attach- open up fold on side of one long strip and pin down to frame design as you desire right sides together. Repeat for other side. Machine stitch along fold to the point where you want the frame on top and bottom to end. Flip back each long strip and press down. 6. Place short strip on top, open up and machine stitch in place just to end of design area. Flip back and press down. 7. #3c piece of fabric- Fold raw edges together to a rectangle 4 x 8. Fold folded edge together to form an upside down triangle. Fold raw edges down ¼ and pin along bottom frame, meeting two strips. You will have to trim where the fold protrudes from the triangle. Machine stitch down then flip down and press. 8. Now that the embroidery is framed and stitched on all four sides, trim excess material away and you are ready to attach to garment. Measure very carefully, pin and hand baste if you desire, then top stitch all three outside folds down, and across the folded triangle. Voila, you can now enjoy your finished garment!
