Tips Tips & & Tricks A helpful lift from I-beams risers It ofte helps to raise a workpiece up off the bech, especially whe you eed clamp access udereath. Although you ca sometimes just use thick boards as risers, I ve foud that I-beams work much better because you ca clamp them to the bechtop, the secure the workpiece to the top beam flage. This works perfectly, for example, whe you eed to clamp routig guides to a pael for dadoig or cuttig teos for a breadboard ed, as show i the drawig. Eve simple edge profilig is more easily doe o a secured workpiece, ad raisig the work meas you do t have to crouch at the bech. My risers spa the width of my workbech to allow easy clampig aywhere alog its legth. Made of plywood, they raise a workpiece about 7 iches off the bech, which works fie for most operatios. I screwed ad glued the pieces together, couterborig the screws to prevet possible damage to workpieces.
