Written In The Stars Just For You! Hey GLACURH!!!!!!!!! My name is Nicole Pacewic and I am excited and honored to be bidding for the Coordinating Officer of Recognition and Service. My first experience with GLAUCRH is when I went to my first NACURH 2016. It was my first time in board room. I was nervous and scared but I quickly felt like I belonged because of the amazing RBD. They were encouraging, kind and eager to answer any questions they were true stars. From then on I hoped that one day that I could be apart of the Reginal Board of Directors and help other CC s feel welcomed. But in that moment I thought I could never do that. I was too nervous and afraid of the unknown. But through going to more conferences and being in RHA I have found my voice. Being around all of these star CC s and watching and learning from them I gained so much knowledge about this amazing organization. Being in RHA has been a huge part of my life since my freshman year. GLACURH and RHA has helped me find a home amongst strangers. But those strangers have quickly become my family. I love getting to share my passion with others and see them fall in love with the organization that means to much to me I hope to be able to represent the region well if I am elected to this position. To the Moon Positional Goals 24 hour response time Post the bidding time line by the end of August By posting the bidding timeline in August I hope it will encourage more CC s to bid for awards Revamp the Bidding Guide I would like to send out evaluations to see what else CC s would like to see in the Bid Guide Work on legislation I have loved working on legation this past year and I would like to continue to try to help our Governing Documents stay current and transparent Chair taskforces Being active and connecting with others in our region is very important to me Regional Goals Have more bids submitted Regionally Host round table chats and available for Zoom Meetings to make CC s feel more comfortable with the bidding process Find new ways to recognize CC s, Advisors, and Delegates 7
Through the Telescope January 27, 2018 Dear Regional Board of Directors, It is with great pride that I write this letter of support for Nicole Pacewic serving on the GLACURH Regional Board of Directors. I have worked with Nicole for two and a half years, and I am confident that you will find her to be a great candidate for the award. Over the past year, Nicole has continued her growth as a leader on campus at Northern Illinois University and at a number of conferences. Nicole shows her dedication to the university through her work on the Residence Hall Association Executive Board. Taking an active part in program planning and execution, Nicole outsteps her positional duties and creates a positive, teamoriented atmosphere on the executive board. Nicole has used the knowledge and skills she has gained at conferences to serve as the RHA Parliamentarian in addition to her position as the NCC. Whenever there is a need for Parliamentary Procedure or Robert s Rules of Order, Nicole is prepared to give feedback. Nicole has served as a liaison and representative of NIU at state, regional, and international conference. In boardroom, Nicole takes an active role in making sure that the institution is well represented. She has developed strong relationships with representatives from other institutions across the state, region, and world. Through those relationships, Nicole has been able to excel at her work. As an NCC, Nicole organizes delegations to represent NIU at conferences. Nicole works to select a diverse group of students to represent NIU. During delegation meetings, she leads activities to allow the students to get to know each other better and prepare them for what to expect at a conference. Her positivity and knowledge help delegates feel more comfortable with the new experience of conferences. On behalf of the NIU Residence Hall Association, I am confident that Nicole would service with distinction on the GLACURH Regional Board of Directors.
