You may choose to place stitch markers to mark and move at the end of each round. Crocheting into chains is used to make the muzzle. This monkey contains 11 pieces that require sewing together to form the finished item. A basic knowledge of whipstitch sewing is required to assemble the pieces. Carnival 8 Ply and Carnival Soft 8 Ply 100% Acrylic Yarn was used to make this monkey and finished creation measured approximately 18cm (7 inches) from top to bottom. Any variation to the size of the hook and yarn will result in a different size monkey. SPECIAL STITCH Invisible decrease. Insert hook into the front loop of next stitch (don t yarn over) then insert hook into the front loop of the next stitch. Yarn over and pull through 2 loops then yarn over and pull through both loops. A regular single crochet decrease can be used if that is a preferred method. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS If you are making this item for a very young child, you may want to replace plastic safety eyes with embroidered stitches and omit steps 12 and 13 of Assembly instructions. Ensure all stitches are secured and there are no loose fittings. Email helloyellowyarn@gmail.com for help or questions about the pattern. Visit www.helloyellowyarn.com. Page 2 of 7

ASSEMBLY Use whipstitch method to stitch pieces together. 1. Place face on head and align tail end in the middle. Place eyes (but do not attach backing yet) in the middle and at equal distance apart. 2. Push safety eyes onto both pieces and attach the backing from the inside of the head. 3. Stitch the face onto the head. Fill the head with stuffing firmly. Weave in and hide yarn tail. 4. With black yarn or black cotton thread, stitch a mouth and small nose on the muzzle. 5. Place muzzle onto lower part of the face and begin stitching together. 6. Lightly stuff the muzzle halfway through stitching and then continue to stitch shut. Hide yarn tail. Page 6 of 7
ASSEMBLY (continued) 7. Stitch ears onto the side of the head. Refer to above photo for placement. Weave in and hide yarn tails. 8. Stuff the body firmly. Matching stitch for stitch, sew the head onto the body, making sure it s in the centre. Weave in and hide yarn tails. 9. Stuff the arms (less near the opening) then stitch onto the sides of the body. Curved part should be pointing forward. Refer above photo for placement. Weave in and hide yarn tails. 10. Stuff legs firmly then sew to the lower part of the body, 5 stitches apart from each other. Weave in and hide yarn tails. 11. Lightly stuff the tail then stitch onto the centre, lower back part of the body. Hide yarn tails. 12. Pull through a strand or two of yarn on top of head and secure with a tight knot. Cut to preferred length. 13. Lastly, cut two small oval shapes out of pink felt and glue onto the monkey s face, just below the eyes using a glue gun. Page 7 of 7
