Feeling of Happiness We had a workshop about how to be successful in your life. We started with the question what are the main factors for being happy and successful. We answered : HEALTH OPTIMISTIC FAMILY MOTIVATION LOVE BEING YOURSELF RELATIONSHIPS SELF-ACCEPTANCE SUCCESS SELF-CONFIDANCE Then the concept of PERMA by Salinger was presented and ideas were similar to ours. He says that to be happy you have to be positive and you need engagement, relationships, meaning and achievement. Moreover he told us about three parts of our life in which you can achieve success. : ME, WORK, FAMILY We learned that we can motivate ourselves by writing down achievements in these three parts every week. 7 Young and Talented Every age and stage in life has got its advantages and disadvantages. Being young is the most wonderful part of life because: You have good heath. You are daring and dashing. You look handsome/beautiful. You have a very good memory. Your mental faculties are at its peak. Life looks as an adventure and a gift to enjoy. You are willing to take risks. You have a many things to dream about. You have your whole life ahead, most young people have good health and a lot of energy, you might even use some types of positive discrimination (e.g. cheaper fares etc) and most young people do not have to worry about paying bills etc. Disadvantages: You are too much emotional. You are not able to think options/choices available while taking decisions. You struggle with finances. You might lack support at times. You are prone to commit not only mistakes but at times blunders. You have no experience to fall back. 7

Why is it important to travel abroad? Even though there are some disadvanteges of being young, but the most important thing is that you can learn a lot! And we would like to encourage you to collect your experience abroad! 8 Within the European union, there are many possibilities for every young person to spend some time abroad. During the project Young and Employed, we got to know a few possibilities for young people to gain experience within the programs of European Union. At first we have summed up the most important reasons, why is it really essential to take part in any project abroad: 1. You have a great opportunity to learn new languages, speak with native speakers of many European languages and you can broaden your knowledge of basic vocabulary in other European languages. 2. While taking part in these project,s you get to know new cultures and new traditions, which can make you think about your own traditions and background. When you get to know these traditions, it can also widen your knowledge of the European culture. 3. One of the best part of taking part in international projects is a possibility to find friends from all over the Europe. This means that you can not only improve your language skills while writing with them after the project, but it also gives you a network of your personal contacts through the whole Europe, which you might use in your future. 4. Even though you might be not too talkative, every project gives you also a great opportunity to improve your communication skills. While cooperating during workshops, discussions or any other activity, you are not only enriched by opinions and positions of others but you also improve your own skills and you learn how to present your opinions, how to lead a group, etc. 5. Everybody likes to travel but travelling is an expensive hobby. Also being a young teenager it might be hard to travel alone. But there are a lot of European funds, which might help you, there are many organisations, in which you can get involved in these European projects and you can obtain even some kind of support from the European union. Also travelling in a group of other young people gives you opportunity to travel without your parents, take part in the project abroad and gain new experience. 8

6. The project of the European union also gives you independence and takes you to different places of foreign countries, where you might never look as an average tourist. It gives you also the independence to take care of yourself in foreign country without your parents. It gives you also self-confidence because you will now how to handle situations in different country. 7. Because you meet a lot of people from different countries, you get to know more about European cultures, about people living in different countries, you get to know also food and traditions of other countries, all these knowledge broaden your sense of tolerance. While living in multicultural surrounding you understand a lot not only about the other cultures, but also about your own. 8. Whenever you take part in any project of the European union, it allows you to learn new skills to your life. Every project has its own topic and it's thus focused on these things. But you also learn through non-formal learning, projects allow you to find more good qualities in you or encourage you to work on your weaker sides. 9. Because you have a great opportunity to discover different states, cultures and people, projects also give you opportunity to fight against prejudices and stereotypes you have about other cultures. They also help broaden your mind, the lead to open-mindedness and they always bring you something new about different cultures. 10. While facing the international background, it makes you also think about your own culture, your own traditions and things to be proud of. Stay outside your country brings you new points of view to your own country and it might awaken a patriot inside you. 11. Every young person is quite unsure about their future and have problems to understand what they want to do in future. European projects can help you to find yourself and understand your life better. It might also post a bigger questions for you but anyway they are a life-changers. 12. All of these projects also make you thing about all the European union, its institutions and programs. You can be also amazed by the connected system of European institutions. You might also understand for the first time the importance of Schengen area, which allows you to travel within Europe with your national ID, which is valid within Europe. It also might surprise you that you can use your ISIC card in other European countries. 13. The last and the most important fact is that the international projects are mainly fun and they bring you new experience even if you don't think about it and you use them in your life afterwards. 9 9
