Within this framework, the PROFESSIONAL MODULES and their respective LEARNING OUTCOMES acquired by the holder are listed below: Carpentry and Furniture Materials Identifies the main types of wood used in carpentry and furniture, relating their characteristics to their applications. Selects wood derivative products and other materials used in carpentry and furniture, justifying their application according to the results to be obtained. Characterizes wood transformation processes, relating the technical specifications of the products to raw the materials and resources. Characterizes the main processes for manufacturing elements of carpentry and furniture, relating them to the historical, aesthetic and operational aspects. Recognizes the construction systems used in carpentry and furniture manufacturing and installation, relating them to auxiliary and joining elements. Identifies environmental regulations regarding the use of wood, recognizing the quality marks and assessing their contribution. "Construction Solutions" Draws outlines and sketches of carpentry and furniture elements and products, proposing solutions to preestablished requirements. Defines manufacturing and fitting solutions regarding carpentry and furniture, justifying the dimensional characteristics and the techniques established. Draws plans of carpentry and furniture, applying representation rules and using design programmes. Prepares lists of materials for manufacturing and/or fitting carpentry and furniture, identifying, pieces, components and accessories. Represents templates and complex pieces for manufacturing and fitting carpentry and furniture, using the established techniques, materials and procedures. "Basic Carpentry Operations" Identifies assembly and joining systems, relating their performance to the intended aesthetic and operational result. Selects wood for elements of carpentry manufacture, justifying the choice according to the machining process to be performed and the result to be obtained. Carries out marking and drawing operations, interpreting graphical documentation and applying measuring techniques. Makes carpentry pieces, machining the wood with hand tools. Makes carpentry pieces, machining the wood with conventional machinery. Composes carpentry assemblies, adjusting their elements according to the technical documentation. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE DIPLOMA The Technician in Fitting and furnishing works in companies assembling and fitting carpentry and furniture and applying finishing products for retouching. The most relevant occupations or jobs are the following: Wood carpenter team leader Construction carpenter assembler Carpenter as a whole Scenery carpenter Cabinetmaker and assimilated worker Furniture assembler-fitter Manufacturer of wood structures and carpentry and cabinetmaking pieces for construction AWARD, ACCREDITATION AND LEVEL OF THE DIPLOMA Name of the body awarding the diploma on behalf of the King of Spain: Spanish Ministry of Education or the different Autonomous Communities according to their areas of competence. The title has academic and professional validity throughout Spain Official duration of the education/ training leading to the diploma: 2000 hours. Level of the diploma (national or international): NATIONAL: Post-Compulsory Secondary Education INTERNATIONAL: - Level 3 of the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED3). - Level of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF ). Entry requirements: Holding the Certificate in Compulsory Secondary Education or holding the corresponding access test. Access to next level of education/training: This Diploma may provide access to Advanced Training Cycles provided that an entrance exam is passed.
