Mobile Weapons Storage System Specifications Whatever your weapon storage needs, Hi-Density s customized Weapons Storage System will be designed to fit your unique specifications. We recognize that security is always an issue, so we offer a Triple Lock down feature for racks used in Hi-Density Mobile Storage Systems. The first aspect of this triple lock feature involves a special locking system used to secure all weapons in each rack. This system can accommodate any weapon or configuration including but not limited to pistols, rifles, M2, and MK19 grenade launchers. The second aspect is the Security Lock that locks the system closed. The third aspect of the Triple lock is the High Security Lock that locks the systems rails and insures the system cannot be opened! Rail: All rail to consists of special 6061 T6 structural aluminum extrusion with a built-in, anti-tip grooves and is fitted with a 3/4 square 1045 steel bar. This allows all joints to overlap, interlock and be pined. The resulting joints have excellent vertical and horizontal alignment and superior strength. The rail extrusion is designed with a flange on each side, which allows the floor to be fastened directly to the rail. The rail is leveled by use of leveling screws and is continuously grouted and anchored to the building floor. Stainless steel bar is also available for special applications.(one piece rail with tongue and groove splices offering only vertical alignment is unacceptable) Floor: Floor to consists of 5 ply 3/4 tongue and groove plywood that sits on and fastens to the rail extrusion and anchors to the building floor to provide a unified floor and rail system with excellent joint alignment and support. The plywood is leveled and supported by 5/16 T-nuts inserted in the plywood a maximum of 16 on center with 5/16 leveling screws used between the rails to level and support the floor. A 19 ramp made of the same material as the floor with tongue and groove joints, laminated with 1/8 thick bright finish aluminum tread plate offering superior durability and a nonslip surface is provided for transition from existing floor to elevated floor meeting ADA requirements of 1 in 12. (Plywood without tongue and groove joints or particleboard are unacceptable).

Carriages: The carriage frames are to be jig welded, high strength, light weight 6061-T6 aluminum extrusions providing a noncorrosive frame and 1000 lbs. per foot weight capacity. All wheel housing must consists of a one piece structural extrusion which is welded directly over the wheels and bearings, allowing for the carriage load to be distributed directly to the bearings and wheels, not the bearing mounting hardware. This creates a stronger, straighter, more durable load and guiding system. The carriage frame is finished with a highly durable acrylic enamel to match shelving color or customer specifications. Each wheel section must support a minimum load of 7000 pounds. All carriages must be capable of having optional in-rail anti-tips at each rail location. (Formed steel carriages, two piece wheel housings and side mounted bearings are unacceptable) Wheels: All wheels are 5 diameter dual flange guide wheels machined from 1144 solid steel. All Drive Wheels are to be mounted on a 1 solid steel shaft between two permanently sealed and lubricated ball bearings. All wheels on one side of the carriage must connected and driven by a 1 solid steel line shaft running the length of the carriage. The continuous line shaft provides a reliable low maintenance positive drive system. All mechanical parts, including bearings and wheels, must be replaceable without modifying, removing or unloading of carriages. ( Carriages not being driven at every rail are unacceptable) Stationary Platforms: All stationary platforms are to be of the same construction as the carriages and be fastened, to the system rails to provide a secure and unified Weapons Storage System. End panels: All exposed carriage ends and backs, as required, are to be finished with options of low pressure laminate, high pressure laminate or powder coated steel panels. All laminated panels are trimmed with a one-piece black edge trim and spacer tube assembly mounted on each side of the panels, achieving a smooth finished look. This allowing all panels sit on and interlock with the carriage and platform extrusions and be fastened to the shelving for secure and lasting service and durability. (End Panels not interlocking with carriage and platform frame and non structural panels are unacceptable)

Crank Assemblies: All Crank Assemblies are constructed with a 3/4 drive shaft fitted with a drive sprocket mounted between 2-permanelty sealed and lubricated ball bearings fitted in a welded aluminum housing and mounted to a structural face panel. Crank assembles to accept three spoke ergonomic handles of powder coated aluminum construction equipped with 3-rotating soft rubber knobs for comfort and grip. Knobs to be assembled with bronze bearings for smooth operation and extended service. The crank assembly is mounted at a height of 40 meeting ADA regulations. The crank assembly drive chain must be adjustable without removing end panels or requiring the use of special tools. (Crank Assemblies using bronze or non-sealed ball bearings and/or plastic ergonomic handles are unacceptable) All carriages come standard with 5000 to 1 gearing with other options available. Safety locks: Safety Locks to be mounted below the crank at 28 and provide a positive carriage lock. The waist high safety lock design allows for the carriage to be locked, rather than the crank. If the crank chain or crank mechanism were to fail carriage should remain locked and unable to roll. (Safety locks mounted to the crank handles are unacceptable) Security Lock: Waist High Keyed Security lock consists of a 3/16 x 5/8 1018 steel lock bar mounted in the first wheel housing of the carriage locking into the first rail of the system. Where the lock is totally concealed and inaccessible. The lock bar is operated by mechanical linkage connected to a waist high mounted keyed lock. (Security Locks mounted to the end panels and not to the carriage frame are unacceptable) High Security locks: The High Security Lock is the most secure lock in the industry it consists of a lock hasp made from a 1 x4 1018 solid steel bar machined as part of the rail to accept a DOD approved lock. The lock hasp is part of the systems rails and secured to the floor with 2-3/8 by 6 masonry anchors as well as all other anchors securing the rail, all anchors and fasteners are totally concealed and inaccessible when the system is locked. The lock bar consists of 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 3/16 thick 1018 steel channel that fits into the rail under and against the last carriage in the system and recesses in the exposed rail in the system. Fitting over the lock hasp this secures the lock bar, totally concealing the system rail, hasp and all hardware. ( Lock bars not recessed into the rail or directly contacting the floor are unacceptable)

Weapons Racks: All Weapons Racks are to be constructed of solid highly durable non-marring wear resistant polyethylene (HDPE) most commonly used as wear guards in heavy equipment and machinery due to its strength and durability. By using this material in weapons storage systems we can offer the most universal, weapon safe, non-marring, durable storage racks for today s high tech weapons and the weapons of the future. The non-marring material in the racks is solid and will not brake bend, wear away or fall off leaving exposed steel to make direct contact with the weapons. (Steel supports and components with rubber coatings and plastic or rubber guards that can bend, brake, fall off, or wear away are unacceptable) Barrel Supports: Barrel supports are machined from one piece of 3/8 thick solid High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) material having no guards or coatings to fall off or wear away. All standard supports are to be capable to accommodate weapons with or without scopes, sights and/or grenade launcher. Gunstock Supports: Gunstock Supports are of the same material as barrel supports mounted to a 6061-T6 aluminum extruded channel with a 3/4 thick x 1 wide HDPE strip mounted in the base of the channel to insure the weapon tilts to the rear of the rack and can not tip out of the rack system. The Gunstock supports are mounted to a fully adjustable Shelf formed of 18 gauge cold roll steel with a 25/32' high channel formation on all sides. Return flange is formed to 120º permitting easier installation. Shelves are supports buy 2 supports formed of 11 gauge hot roll steel, 11/16 high with flat ears at either end. Semi-tubular rivets with 7/16 diameter head is staked onto ears Pistol Racks: Pistol Racks are machined from a 3/4 thick solid piece of HDPE designed to support the pistol barrel and grip from the exterior of the weapon leaving the barrel rifling unaffected. The racks are mounted to fully adjustable Shelves formed of 18 gauge cold roll steel with a 25/32' high channel formation on all sides. Return flange is formed to 120º permitting easier installation. Shelves are supports buy 2 supports formed of 11 gauge hot roll steel, 11/16 high with flat ears at either end. Semi-tubular rivets with 7/16 diameter head is staked onto ears

Large Weapons Storage: All M2 Racks must stored 2-barrels directly behind 1-gun with the capability for one lock to secured each set of 2-barrels and 1-gun. Each 12 d x 36 w Rack must hold 4-sets of 2-barrels and 1-gun, a 42 wide rack must hold 4 sets, and a 48 wide rack must hold 5 sets of 2-barrels and 1-gun (storing barrels beside the weapons or separate from the gun are unacceptable) All MK19 Grenade launcher Racks must store 3-MK19 in a 15 d x 36 w rack and 4-in 42, and 48 wide racks with the capability of locking all weapons in each rack with one lock where necessary. Weapon Rack Locks: Each Barrel Support can be equipped with a one piece lock assembly machined from a solid piece of 3/4 thick HDPE mounted to the Barrel Support with 4-3/8 round steel shoulder bolts. The Unique slide lock design locks all weapons in each rack with one DOD approved padlock. Pistol Rack Locks: The Pistol Rack lock is made of the same material as barrel support lock fitted with a rubber coated 3/8 steel hook for each pistol that locks the pistol in the rack through the trigger guard each lock assembly is of similar design as the barrel support lock securing all pistols in each rack with 1-DOD approved padlock. Weapons Rack Open Uprights: Open uprights are formed of 18 gauge cold roll steel, rolled into a 2" wide hollow "T" or 1" wide hollow "L" shape with key slot holes punched on 1-1/2" centers along the inner wall only. There are no holes on the face of the post. The front and back posts are joined by welding 18 gauge spacers to maintain the required distance apart and add rigidity to the assembly. Center spacers are 3" high flat strips. Top and bottom spacers have a 11/16" stiffening flange with two 1/4" holes to allow mounting to floor or mobile bases. All uprights 64" or less have three spacers. Uprights 76" to 88" high that are less than 30" deep have three spacers. All other uprights have four spacers. The "T" uprights are used as common intermediate uprights and "L" uprights are used for row ends.

Weapons Rack Closed Uprights: Closed uprights have same specification as open upright except the 18 gauge spacers are replaced by welding a 24 gauge closure sheet with a special offset stiffener flange at the bottom of the closure sheet. The flange has two 1/4" holes to allow securing to floor or mobile base. Rack Back Panels: Backs are formed from 24 gauge cold roll steel and are held in place by reverse flanges on each side. The side edges are formed in two reverse 90" bends to provide flanges 3/8" and 5/16" wide. The flanges fit around the post and hold the back in place by retaining the flanges between the shelf support, the notch in the shelf and the post. The top and the bottom of the back have stiffeners for additional strength. Backs of 88" high or less are of one piece construction, while backs over 88 high are of two piece construction, connected with a back splice.
