SUMMER PROGRAMS 2015 The Summer School in Design at ARCH presents opportunities for students, designers, art lovers and artists to gain valuable learning that goes far beyond the structured classrooms experience. Arayash Fresco Painting Clay Sculpture The workshop is to revive the art of fresco paintings. It will cultivate the independence of individual in this medium to find expression for their individual visions and realize their talents. In this workshop trainees will be encouraged to follow their own imaginative journey and explore and nurture ideas to experiment with the medium freely. Creative Woven Textiles Enamelling Woven products are one of the oldest creations of human beings and today have a huge range of functions and application. The workshop will include Introduction to the major components of the loom & Introduction to Basic Weave structures. This workshop is ideal for beginner who are keen on learning an ancient French Enamelling Technique for decorating metal objects and jewellery pieces. This Enamelling Technique is where the surface of the metal is decorated with low relief design which can be seen through translucent and transparent enamels. She holds a Masters Degree in Textile Weaving with Automotive Industrial experience. Her specialization lies in the analysis of the weave structures, reproduction of market cloth and advanced exclamatory Woven Textiles. Lead person: Mr. Surender Singh An alumnus of the Rajasthan School of Arts with a course in Advance Enameling from I.I.J Mumbai. Now working as research fellow by MHRD Dept, Govt. of India. His research topic for period of two years is Glass on metal- Enameling. It s a journey of enameling from traditional to modern enamel painting.

Metal Craft Design Papier Mache This workshop will be useful for Students, Artists and people who have curiosity to know about metal crafts and explore their commercial and aesthetic value. It will be a platform for learning various techniques of metal craft and use it for applied and decorative purposes. The workshop will introduce the learners to the papier mache craft with visuals. You will get to explore the beauty of pulp and the use of colours, from the preparation of the pulp and mixing with multani mitti to making the mould, experimentation with pinching, coil and relief method etc for creating various decorative and utility art and craft objects. Batch Starts : 25 May 2015 5 June 2015 Lead Person: Mr. Virendra Sharma He is a Master Craftsman and Sculpture Painter who works in a various medium like metal, wood, Papier- Mache and Stones. He is also a State awardees.

Natural Dyes Photography This workshop is ideal for beginners who are keen on learning the natural fabric dyeing process. The workshop will introduce the basic concepts of natural dyeing on natural fabrics from mordants to dyeing techniques along with Product Development in the form of dupatta, dress material, sari, table cover, bed sheets and sofa cushion covers etc. Batch Starts : 18 May 2015-29 May 2015 Lead Faculty : Mr. Arvind Sharma He hold an Engineering Diploma in Textile Technology, from Indian Institute of Handloom and Textile Technology, Jodhpur and a Degree in Arts from Rajasthan University. He has 10 years of industrial experience in Textile and Dyeing. This workshop is ideal for beginner level photographers. It will cover the basic concepts of digital photography, camera operation and handling techniques. Attendees will also be familiarized with the unique features of camera systems. No.of seats : 20 Batch Starts : 2 June 2015-12 June 2015 Lead Person: Mr. Mahesh Hariani He is a self taught artist and photographer, a teacher & an innovator. He has been practicing and learning the fine art of photography since 1980 and has been fortunate to share his knowledge on the subject as a teacher ever since in various institutes in India.

Pottery Craft Wood Craft Design The workshop will introduce the learners to the basic concepts of pottery making, from the preparation of clay to the generation of different shapes and surfaces. This workshop will enable people to have hands on experience with different wood working tools and convert their imagination into functional and artistic products. Batch Starts :25 May 2015 5 June 2015 Lead Person: Mr. Ramesh He holds a specialization and Expertise in Blue Pottery and Pottery Making. He is a traditional craftsman from Sawai Madhopur Dstrict in Rajasthan with vast experience in Terracotta and Plaster of Paris. Batch Starts : 18 May 2015-29 May 2015 Lead faculty: Mrs. Prabha Sharma She holds a specialization in Interior designing with 11 yrs. of experience in Managing Hotel Design Projects. Her skills include Drawing 3D views through perspectives and orthographic projections.
