Fat Quarters Hi everyone, Diane Elms Programs Diane.elms@roadrunner.com 951-599-4064 Our Little Red School House last month was fun and I learned some very useful techniques. I hope you all enjoyed it as well. September being our birthday month no speaker is scheduled. Instead we are having Jan and Dian from the Quilters Cottage in Fallbrook coming as vendors. So please come prepared to shop! I know they have been working hard preparing to bring in wonderful things from their shop. Cathy Parker cathyparker@earthlink.net 775-910-1000 This year we are doing something new with Fat Quarters. September--Brown October---Black November--Cream December--Red January--Grey February--White Any questions, email Cathy at above address Our October speaker will be Dot Demmin. Security Quilts Susan Leuschen 951-765-5448 Hi quilters, We have 10 quilts to tie if you can come to the Yakkers room on Mondays. Hospice had a thank you ice cream social last week and Joan Dorr, Evelyn Eilers and I attended. We had a fun time. They had a guessing game with questions to answer and guessing how many red hot candies in a jar and other objects in other jars. One of the ladies took me aside and asked if we could make a few patriotic quilts to cover the veterans when removed from the room. They want to give it to the relative after. I said, "yes!" I have some kits for you to sew and tie special for that occasion. They are one of our regular receivers Hospice is looking for volunteers to help with their bereavement program for teenagers. It is a two hours a week commitment. They are having a training on September 16th and 17th. You can call 1-766-9629 if you would like to go. I am proud to be a member of the Valley Quilters. You are so generous. Thank you for all you do. Needle Yakkers Betty Barney 927-9739 Needle Yakkers meets every Monday morning at 9am at Valley Wide Recreation Center. To yak, quilt, tie security quilts or bring your own project. Sharon Schamber's appliqué stabilizer is available for purchase at $2.00 a yard. No Yakkers On Aug 18 th and Sept 1 st. Quilters Did You Know? New Track Media, who specializes in quilting publications estimates that there are over 21 million quilters in America representing a $3.58 billion annual market. A dedicated quilter on average has $7,504.00 worth of quilting tools and supplies and owns $3,727.00 worth of fabric. REALLY!!!! Is Your Stash That Big? 5

Mary Myers Myers244@gmail.com 951-679-7350 It is time to start thinking about our Guild Retreat ladies. The date for the retreat is March 16-19, 2015 and the price is $305.00 double occupancy.. For all of you who have never gone to retreat let me tell you what a wonderful week it is. You get to just sew on whatever you chose and be with all your friends while you cut one thousand half square triangles or whatever. It is just fun being with each other quilting. The price includes your room and meals. The food is great. Now I do need deposits of $50.00 by the November meeting to reserve your place. The final payment will be due at the February guild meeting. I just get so excited and I want all my guild friends to share in my excitement in the retreat... Any question please feel free to call me. -- 7
