Backing 0263-0110 Blue Wreaths 5 1/2 yards Cut two 92 x 42 strips. Piece together to make the 80 x 92 back. Block Assembly Instructions 1) Place one 2-5/8 Fabric C square on the left side of one 2-5/8 x 4 ¾ Fabric G strip, right sides together (Fig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner. (Fig. 1). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance. 2) Place another 2-5/8 Fabric C square on the right side of the 2-5/8 x 4 ¾ Fabric G strip, right sides together (Fig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (Fig. 3). Flip open the triangle formed and press (Fig. 4). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving ¼ seam allowance to complete one G/C flying geese. Repeat to make sixteen total G/C flying geese. 3) Repeat Steps 1-2 using forty 2-5/8 Fabric I squares and twenty 2-5/8 x 4 ¾ Fabric O strips to make twenty O/I flying geese (Fig. 5). 4) Repeat Steps 1-2 using forty 2-5/8 Fabric K squares and twenty 2-5/8 x 4 ¾ Fabric N strips to make twenty N/K flying geese (Fig. 6). 5) Repeat Steps 1-2 using twenty-four 2-5/8 Fabric D squares and twelve 2-5/8 x 4 ¾ Fabric F strips to make twelve F/D flying geese (Fig. 7). 6) Repeat Steps 1-2 using twenty-four 2-5/8 Fabric B squares and twelve 2-5/8 x 4 ¾ Fabric H strips to make twelve H/B flying geese (Fig. 8).
PAGE 4 of 5 7) Sew one 2-5/8 Fabric G square to each end of one G/C flying geese to make the top row. Repeat to make the bottom row. Sew one strip to each side of one 4 ¾ Fabric M square to make the middle row (Fig. 9). Sew the top, middle and bottom rows together to make the Block One Center (Fig. 10). 8) Sew one Fabric L triangle to each side of the Block One Center, completing one 12 ½ Block One. Repeat to make four Block One squares. 9) Follow Figure 11 for the Block Two Layout to make a total of five Block Two squares. 10) Follow Figure 12 for the Block Three Layout to make a total of five Block Three squares. 11) Follow Figure 13 for the Block Four Layout to make a total of three Block Four squares. 12) Follow Figure 14 for the Block Five Layout to make a total of three Block Five squares. Quilt Top Assembly Instructions- Refer to the quilt layout while assembling. 13) Refer to the quilt layout for block placement to sew together four assorted blocks to make one row. Repeat to make five rows total. 14) Sew the rows together to complete the 48 ½ x 60 ½ quilt top. 15) Sew one 2 x 60 ½ Fabric Q strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2 x 51 ½ Fabric Q strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 16) Sew one 3 ½ x 63 ½ Fabric G strip to each side of the quilt. Sew one 3 ½ x 57 ½ strip to the top and bottom of the quilt. 17) Sew one 2 x 69 ½ Fabric Q strip to each side of the quilt. Sew one 2 x 60 ½ Fabric Q strip to the top and bottom of the quilt. 18) Sew one 6 ½ x 72 ½ Fabric M strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 6 ½ x 72 ½ Fabric M strip to the top and bottom of the quilt. 19) Layer and quilt as desired. 20) Sew the eight 2-1/2 x 42 Fabric C strips together end-to-end with 45 seams to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and press. 21) Bind as desired.
