Pat Sloan at the QGOTV Guild Meeting Pat has written over 30 quilting books with Martingale and Leisure Arts. She has a weekly quilting podcast show with American Patchwork & Quilting. Quilt Bingo What a great time was had by all at January 16 th Rohan Quilters Meeting. We played BINGO in a quilt format! Members of Patchwork Gardens, our sister chapter, participated with us. It was great to see all the tables full with 45 quilters playing QUILTO! Thank you to Peggy Mueller for being the bingo caller. Prizes were given out for the winners with the grand prize of $25. Special thanks to Alice and the program committee for organizing and setting this up for us. In addition, Pat has designed 14 fabric lines for Moda and P&B Textiles. Pat's fun, fast moving and very lively slide presentation takes you from her 'First First Quilt' to her latest and greatest adventures in quilting. Along the way you'll learn some great tips to faster quilting, how she does her appliqué, figure out what it means to work in series (it's good!), and find out where she is on the internet so you can hang out with her! Pat Sloan will be at the guild meeting Tuesday, February 6, 2018, 7pm at Laurel Manor Recreation Center Doors open at 6:30 Meeting begins at 7 PM 50/50, Nametag drawing, Show and Tell Hosted by Rohan Quilters 1
Presidents Message Rohan Quilters As soon as my husband and I made our decision to move to The Villages, I knew I wanted to become a member of The Guild. About a year ago I started dropping in on the chapter meetings at Rohan in hopes that one day I would be told there was an opening and I could join. I was so excited the day Kelly called to tell me I was now a member! I am very proud and honored to be serving as co-president with Lin. A few weeks ago Lin and I had a chance to sit down and chat with the guild president. She asked us to tell her about our chapter. As we started listing all of the charity work we had accomplished and our past and upcoming programs I realized what a wonderful and creative group of women make up our chapter. conversations. If you feel yourself getting tired of sitting, feel free to get up and stretch, take a restroom break, or go back to the treat table. We have our workshop with Marie Anderson to look forward to on February 20th. I ll be contacting Marie soon to find out about supplies and anything else we need to know before the class. I plan to send out an email with that information instead of taking business meeting time. A good day is a day spent quilting laughing and sharing with friends. Yours in stitches, Kathy Powers Please be patient with Lin and me as we learn how to best work together to help our chapter. We are very much aware of the concern that many of you have about the length of our business meetings. The use of an agenda is one thing we re trying to help keep the meetings on track. Items you would like to add to the agenda should be sent to Lin and me about a week before our business meeting. We re also going to ask you to put your phones on polite mode during our meeting time and to limit side 2

My favorite part is working on the top; I really don t enjoy the batting/backing/quilting & binding part! I quilt because I enjoy making beautiful things as gifts for others or for my home. I always hope they know & appreciate how personal and special a quilt gift is. Kelly Sanders table runner Favorite pattern and/or fabric? I really don t have a favorite pattern. Moving to Florida challenged me to make a golf cart bag and mahjong table covers. I began quilting this past August and find it to be a new challenge. Favorite pattern and/or fabric?
