The most important question to ask yourself when choosing a sixth form

Let s face it it doesn t matter how good the academic record happens to be. If it s not the place for you, then you are not going to enjoy it and enjoyment is the key to success. Will I fit in? You already know Rugby High has a great record. Our students produce some of the best A Level results in the country. They must be enjoying themselves: but could it be right for you?

Successful students are independent and hard working. They are open minded and prepared to consider things outside of their normal experiences. They perform better than average in their GCSEs and they are able to learn at a quick pace. At Rugby High the atmosphere is inclusive and friendly. Staff and students respect each other. If this is attractive to you, it makes you a serious candidate for doing your A Levels with Rugby High. Could you really see yourself coming into the Sixth Form at Rugby High?

What our students say about Rugby High You are motivated to work and try really hard. You can see the dedication of our teachers not just in the classroom but outside it too. Rugby High gives me more of a flavour of what there is to do beyond school: activities, clubs, speakers. I now have a stronger sense of what I enjoy and that is where you can grow from. It stands you in good stead for higher education or any career. What future employer would not want that? It s the best decision I ve made for my education. No places are out of bounds. Everywhere is really welcoming. You can study anywhere in school if you don t like the library you can go somewhere else. Rugby High is not cliquey. I felt comfortable talking to lots of different people. Everyone is very inclusive. I have noticed a massive difference from my old school. At the Open Evening it felt like everyone really wanted me to come to the school. At the Open Evening you could see that teachers were passionate about what they taught. They invest their time in you not just in the classroom. The school prepares you for life outside without you realising. You interact and talk to teachers more and then you take those characteristics outside. There s nothing I don t like! Everyone in school wants the same thing, the same goal: to reach our full potential. To be the best they can possibly be. The teachers go beyond just doing their jobs. They really want you to do well. Right from the Open Evening, the school seemed more interested in you as an individual and your wellbeing. It you gives you a very educational/academic route. The first few weeks were a bit of a shock quite different from my old school. Lots of staff and girls reach out to you. There is a wider range of options than most other schools. Having been to Rugby High makes you stand out on a uni or job application because of all the opportunities, trips, talks it offers you.

Our Sixth Form is a caring, sharing community in which everyone can be themselves. What is Rugby High really like? Our students are an incredibly diverse bunch in terms of who they are as individuals and their interests. At Rugby High you could be completing your Gold D of E expedition or running your own business. It doesn t matter what colours or styles you like to wear, what music you prefer or whether you are a bookworm, a cinema buff or a sporty type. By the time they reach Sixth Form, the students who ve been at the school since Year 7 have spent five years in a learning environment where everyone is encouraged to be themselves, support each other and be the best they can be academically and socially.

These students are intelligent, strong minded and comfortable within themselves. They haven t got the sort of insecurities that would make them unwelcoming to new people. Quite the opposite. Whatever you want to do in life, two years with Rugby High will help you develop assertiveness, leadership skills and the broad horizons of a wide-ranging worldview. It will help you to find your voice as a happy, healthy and resilient young person, prepared for whatever the world might bring and ready to make a difference. We ll help you make sure you fulfil your potential. It ll be hard work but it will also be a lot of fun. For the Adults in Your Life Here s what you need to know.. Getting In Applying for a place at Rugby High is easy. There is a very simple application form downloadable from our website. Students normally need six grade Bs (or the equivalent) at GCSE. We are always really happy to help and to answer your queries about admissions. Give us a call on 01788 810518 or email rhsadmin@rugbyhighschool.co.uk. Getting On Young people s happiness and well-being is our first concern. Our second is making sure that they have exciting opportunities to grow and develop. You can find out about our students achievements, their results, what they ended up doing when they left school and the nitty gritty of day to day life at Rugby High from our Sixth Form Information Booklet and from our website: rugbyhighschool.co.uk. Think what we can achieve together. The Rugby High Promise We promise to help our students to set heights in their hearts, to show care and respect for others, to be healthy, happy and resilient, and to find their voice. We don t want a shortage of money to be a barrier to their achievement. If your child qualifies for pupil premium, we will: provide him or her with a leased laptop and access to the internet if you don t have it at home pay for all non residential trips and visits that are part of the curriculum provide him or her with a bursary to help with the costs of buying books and stationery.

Come along, meet us, and find out what Rugby High is really like. Designed and created by Staff and Students at Rugby High School in association with: Making You Unforgettable Thank you to Jon Iles for the photography 01788 334696 clarkesconsulting.co.uk
