Eligibility American Kiko Goat Association Youth Photo Contest Contest Guidelines: The contest is open to any amateur photographer between the ages of 10-17 Contest Rules Photos must be at least 8" x 10", color or black-and-white prints, unmatted and unframed. Digital photos must be high-resolution and printed on photographic paper. See Tips for Best Print Quality section below. No e-mail or memory card entries will be accepted. A completed entry form must accompany each entry and be attached to the back of each photo. Mount completed entry form on the back side. Entry forms may be duplicated. Incomplete or illegible entry forms will not be accepted. The General Activity and Waiver release form must also be completed for and signed by each identifiable person in the photograph; a parent or guardian must sign for a minor. All work must be that of the entrant. Photos must be taken by the contestant during the past year. Photos cannot be altered or image-enhanced in any way. Divisions Youth Division Use contestant's age as of Jan. 1 of the current year Ages 10 and under 11-13 14-17 All photos must highlight goats.
Goats on the Farm Kids with Kids Working for the Goat farm The same image may be entered in more than one category (if it applies to each category) as long as separate copies of that image are provided for each category. The contestant should declare what subject category the photo is to be judged, as the photograph is representative of the contestant's interpretation of the category. Judges, however, reserve the right to move an entry to a more suitable category. Should the contestant already have a photograph in the more suitable subject category, judges are empowered to disqualify a photograph from the competition. Further explanation of the subject categories is listed below. Goats on the Farm - Photographs that highlight goats on the farm or ranch. The goats should be the dominate focus of the picture. Kids and Kids - Photographs that focus on young people with kid goats. Working on the Goat Farm- Photographs that show family, friends, either involved in activities on the farm or ranch around goats. Photos become the property of the AKGA and will not be returned to the contestant. Photos entered in the AKGA photo contest may not have been or be entered in any other contest. Awards for winning entries of the contest will be a minimum of: 1 st Place Ribbon; 2 nd Place Ribbon 3rd-Place Ribbon Entry Deadline Entries must be postmarked by May 1, 2010. Winners will be notified by mail or e-mail. Winners need not be present at the AKGA National Convention. All qualifying photos will be displayed at the AKGA National Convention in June and posted on http://akgayouthphotocontest2010.blogspot.com/ Tips for Best Print Quality 1. Take digital images to a commercial photo finisher (many retail stores have photo centers available) and request a final print size 8in X 10in". 2. When printing from an in-home inkjet or color laser printer, use "best" quality photo print setting (see instruction manual for your specific printer). 3. Be sure to print on photo paper for consideration.

American Kiko Goat Association General Activity Waiver and Release and Photographic, Video, Audio and Web Site Consent and Release I, a willing participant in the AKGA Photo Contest program sponsored by the American Kiko Goat Association, do hereby waive and release the American Kiko Goat Association, an Oklahoma Corporation, from all claims whatsoever which might occur or arise as a result of any injury or damage that I may sustain as a result of participating in such program and do hereby waive and release all of its agents or employees, officers, other participants and members from any and all liability for damages incurred as a result of participation in this program.
