We have provded many mportant safety messages n ths manual and on your applance. lways read and obey all safety messages. Ths s the safety alert symbol. Ths symbol alerts you to potental hazards that can kll or hurt you and others. ll safety messages wll follow the safety alert symbol and ether the word "DNGER" or "WRNING." These words mean: You can be klled or serously follow nstructons. njured f you don't mmedately You can be klled or serously njured f you don't follow nstructons. ll safety messages wll tell you what the potental hazard s, tell you how to reduce the chance of njury, and tell you what can happen f the nstructons are not followed. 8206579

NOTE: The hardware tems lsted here are for wood studs. For other types of wall structures, be sure to use approprate fasteners. Check the openng where the mcrowave oven wll be nstalled. The locaton must provde: Mnmum nstallaton dmensons. See "Installaton Dmensons" llustraton. Mnmum one 2" x 4" (50.8 x 101.6 mm) wood wall stud and mnmum 3/8" (9.5 mm) thckness drywall or plaster/lath wthn cabnet openng. Support for weght of 150 Ibs (68 kg), whch ncludes mcrowave oven and tems placed nsde the mcrowave oven and upper cabnet. Grounded electrcal outlet nsde upper cabnet. See "Electrcal Requrements" secton. NOTES: If nstallng the mcrowave oven near a left sdewall, make sure there s at least 6" (15.2 cm) of clearance between the wall and the mcrowave oven, so that the door can open fully. Some cabnet and buldng materals are not desgned to wthstand the heat produced by the mcrowave oven for cookng. Check wth your bulder or cabnet suppler to make sure that the materals used wll not dscolor, delamnate or sustan other damages. Specal Requrements For Wall Ventng Installaton Only: Cutout must be free of any obstructons so that the vent fts properly, and the damper blade opens freely and fully. For Roof Ventng Installaton Only: If you are usng a rectangular to round transton pece, the 3" (7.6 cm) clearance needs to exst above the mcrowave oven so that the damper blade can open freely and fully. Falure to follow these nstructons can result n death, fre, or electrcal shock. Observe all governng Requred: codes and ordnances. 120 Volt, 60 Hz, C only, 15- or 20-amp electrcal supply wth a fuse or crcut breaker. Recommended: tme-delay fuse or tme-delay crcut breaker. separate crcut servng only ths mcrowave oven.. 2" x 4" wall stud. Grounded 3 prong outlet *30" (76.2 cm) s typcal for 66" (167.6 cm) nstallaton heght. Exact dmensons may vary dependng on type of range/cooktop below. T 171/4" (43.8 1crn) GROUNDING NSTRUCTONS [] For all cord connected applances: The mcrowave oven must be grounded. In the event of an electrcal short crcut, groundng reduces the rsk of electrc shock by provdng an escape wre for the electrc current. The mcrowave oven s equpped wth a cord havng a groundng wre wth a groundng plug. The plug must be plugged nto an outlet that s properly nstalled and grounded. WRNING: Improper use of the groundng plug can result n a rsk of electrc shock. Consult a qualfed electrcan or servceman f the groundng nstructons are not completely understood, or f doubt exsts as to whether the mcrowave oven s properly grounded. Do not use an extenson cord. If the power supply cord s too short, have a qualfed electrcan or servceman nstall an outlet near the mcrowave oven. SVETHESEINSTRUCTIONS

VENTING DESIGN SPECIFICTIONS Ths secton s ntended for archtectural desgner and bulder/ contractor reference only. NOTES: Vent materals needed for nstallaton are not provded wth mcrowave hood. We do not recommend usng a flexble metal vent. To avod possble product damage, be sure to vent ar outsde, unless usng recrculaton nstallaton. Do not vent exhaust ar nto concealed spaces, such as spaces wthn walls or celngs, attcs, crawl spaces or garages. For optmal ventng nstallaton, we recommend: usng roof or wall caps that have back draft dampers usng a rgd metal vent usng the most drect route by mnmzng the length of the vent and number of elbows to provde effcent performance usng unformly szed vents usng duct tape to seal all jonts n the vent system usng caulkng compound to seal exteror wall or roof openng around cap not nstallng 2 elbows together, for optmal hood performance If ventng through the wall, be sure that there s proper clearance wthn the wall for the damper to open fully. If ventng through the roof, and rectangular to round transton s used, be sure there s at least 3" (7.6 cm) of clearance between the top of the mcrowave oven and the transton pece. See "Rectangular to Round Transton" llustraton. Rectangular to Round Transton NOTE: The mnmum 3" (7.6 cm) clearance must exst between the top of the mcrowave oven and the rectangular to round transton pece so that the damper can open freely and fully. Recommended Vent Length 31/4'' x 10" (8.3 x 25.4 cm) rectangular should be used. or 6" (15.2 cm) round vent The total length of the vent system ncludng straght vent, elbow(s), transtons and wall or roof caps must not exceed the equvalent of 140 ft (42.7 m) for ether type of vent. See "Recommended Standard Fttngs" secton for equvalent lengths. For best performance, use no more than three 90 elbows. To calculate the length of the system you need, add the equvalent lengths of each vent pece used n the system. See the followng examples: 31/4'' x 10" (8.3 x 25.4 cm) vent system = 73 ft (22.2 m) total (0.6m) 6 t (1.8m),F SSISTNCE Call your authorzed dealer or servce center.
