PRESENTER BIOGRAPHIES David Smith, Compliance Director, Accume Partners, CAMS, CRCM David is a Director and has over 13 years of regulatory compliance experience in the financial institutions industry. He provides regulatory compliance services to the firm s financial institutions clients. David performs and oversee consumer compliance audits and consulting reviews (all lending, deposit, and alphabet regulations), specialty audits and reviews (BSA/AML, Fair Lending, UDAAP and CRA) and compliance management audits for a wide range of clients. David administers client compliance programs, assesses compliance risk, provides compliance training, drafts policies and procedures, interprets compliance laws and regulations and provides guidance for efficient implementation of law and regulation changes to business processes. He also provides regulatory updates to Accume colleagues and clients through weekly alerts, monthly newsletters, and a regulatory calendar. David serves as a subject matter expert by playing an intricate role in the implementation of firm-wide and client initiatives undertaken as a result of the Dodd- Frank and other legislation. Stephanie Szatkowski, Compliance Manager Accume Partners Stephanie is a Compliance Manager and has over 25 years of regulatory compliance experience in the financial institutions industry. She provides regulatory compliance services to the firm s financial institution clients. She performs consumer compliance audits and consulting reviews (all lending, deposit, and alphabet regulations) as well as specialty audits and reviews (Fair Lending, UDAAP, HMDA, CRA) for a wide range of clients. In addition, Stephanie presents compliance training at the Board and staff level. Stephanie serves as a subject matter expert of consumer compliance regulations within the firm and for the firm s clients. Through several key areas of focus, Stephanie stays in front of changing regulations, brings balanced perspectives and specialized knowledge demanded by banks and financial institutions due to the aggressive pace of an arduous regulatory environment. Stephanie is an active member of both the New Jersey Bankers BSA and Compliance/CRA Sub-Committees. She has presented both local and national seminars and webinars for New Jersey Bankers Association (New Jersey Savings League) and the Financial Managers Society. Stephanie is also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Ian F. McDowell, CPA Principal S.R. Snodgrass, P.C. Ian is a Principal at S.R. Snodgrass, P.C. and has developed expertise in all aspects of the firm s auditing and assurance services. He is particularly proficient with assisting public companies in their SEC regulatory filings under the Securities Act of 1933, the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. Ian has helped his clients navigate through business combinations as well as numerous public and private stock offerings. He is adept at preparing and coordinating all aspects of financial statement audits and other assurance services. While most of Ian s expertise is within the financial services sector (banks, credit unions, hedge funds, investment companies, broker-dealers/rias), Ian has also worked extensively with a variety of manufacturing companies, not-for-profit entities, and employee benefit plans. He remains informed of the ever-changing rules and regulations affecting these industries and assists his clients in dealing with accounting and financial matters that impact their business. Ian received a bachelor s degree in accounting from Otterbein College. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. He also actively participates as a member of the PICPA s Financial Institutions Committee and is a member of the PICPA Council.

John L. Brooks, Ed.D., CPA Principal S.R. Snodgrass, P.C. John has over 30 years of bank management and consulting experience, including a position as the Chief Accounting Officer at a $1.2 billion bank holding company with mortgage and wealth management subsidiaries. In this capacity, John was responsible for accounting and financial reporting, including SEC reporting, asset liability and market risk management, commercial interest rate swaps, derivatives and hedging, mortgage banking, and tax planning and accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a master of business administration from Waynesburg University. John completed the requirements for his doctorate (Ed.D.) in administration and leadership from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. His dissertation research explored the relationship between job satisfaction and financial performance in community banks. John started his career as an auditor and held the position of Chief Auditor at two financial institutions. He also spent five years as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at a local college. In his role at S.R. Snodgrass, John was involved in the design of our proprietary enterprise risk management process. He provides ERM services for our clients and assists on audits of unique, higher-risk areas, such as derivatives and interest rate risk management and model validation. John is also involved in our training program for audit staff specializing in mortgage banking, derivatives, and hedging.
