Over 40 stock edge profiles Exclusive edge profiles available only at Grothouse Lumber Custom profiles crafted to client s specification Hand finished edges carved to our unrivaled standards Profiles custom created to match adjoining surfaces SQUARE When specifying square edges, consideration must be given to the top horizontal edge, the bottom horizontal edge and the vertical corners of the piece. All three edges should be specified to ensure the desired visual appearance. Square edges are skimmed with the sander and retain a crisp, but not sharp line. This edge is not recommended for households with small children. ROUNDOVER Roundovers are a basic edge treatment that is easy to keep clean. A smaller edge profile will maximize the visual thickness of the piece. A larger roundover will reduce the visual thickness of the piece. When specifying roundovers, consideration must be given to the top horizontal edge, the bottom horizontal edge and the vertical corners of the piece. All three edges should be considered to ensure the desired visual appearance. Roundovers can be combined with more ornate edge profiles. A roundover can soften the bottom horizontal edge and vertical corners of any edge profile Grothouse provides. A roundover applied to the top and bottom can create a bullnose. COVE Coves are a basic edge treatment that is easy to keep clean. Coves can be applied to the top horizontal edge or bottom horizontal edge. The radius of the cove must be specified when ordering. CHAMFER Chamfers are a basic edge treatment that is easy to keep clean. Chamfers can be applied to the top horizontal edge or bottom horizontal edge. The depth of the chamfer must be specified when ordering. The chamfer is available in two angles a 15 and a 45. BEADED ROUNDOVER A smaller edge profile will maximize the visual thickness of the piece. A larger roundover will reduce the visual thickness of the piece. Beaded roundovers can be applied to the top horizontal edge or the bottom horizontal edge of the piece. Please specify the radius of the roundover desired when ordering. OGEE & OGEE FILLET This is a common profile for granite pieces. Ogee profiles can be applied to the top horizontal edge only. A roundover can soften the bottom horizontal edge and vertical corners of the Ogee profiles. CLASSIC COVE Classic cove is a more elegant cove profile created by adding a notch to the top and bottom of the curve. Classic coves can be applied to the top horizontal edge or the bottom horizontal edge of the piece. Please specify the radius of the cove desired when ordering. CLASSICAL BEAD AND COVE An elegant edge and the large format size is in a class by itself. Two sizes are offered, classical bead and cove and large classical bead and cove. The classical bead and cove requires a minimum 1-1/2 thick top and the large classical bead and cove requires a minimum 2-1/4 thick top. ROMAN & DOUBLE ROMAN OGEE Roman Ogees are an elegant and classic profile. Grothouse offers many variations of Roman Ogee profiles. Thicker countertops facilitate a more ornate Roman Ogee profile.
