We design, print and manufacture in polypropylene for corporate publicity, advertising and marketing. Your Options To simplify purchasing, we have prepared a standard selection of items to cover the most common requirements. These are by no means all that can be produced, so we would be very pleased to discuss alternative designs and sizes. Experience gained over many years gives us the ability to cater for other applications. Selection charts Using the polysmart selection flow charts, couldn't be easier. You can quickly identify your product choice and determine the order code from the chart (see example codings shown below each chart). The modular processes used, mean that literally thousands of variants are possible. You choose size, fittings, closures, pockets and alternative material options. Material Facts The polysmart collection of presentation items was developed for the protection, packaging and display of documents, products, samples, sales aids, information packs, etc. These items are manufactured from polypropylene, the creative material for today. It is modern, striking, attractive and incredibly tough. Its durability, strength and resistance to moisture and chemicals make it suitable where other substrates may fail. Environmentally Responsible The environmental credentials of polysmart items are second to none. The polypropylene used is manufactured without harm to the environment (all production waste is recycled and there are no toxic gases emitted). It is approved for use in food contact applications and the manufacture of toy components. 100% recycled grade also now available
Printing Techniques Silk Screen Bold solid colours can be achieved with this method of personalising which is very economical for shorter runs. Some images are suitable to be printed with half tones formed of a pattern of dots just visible to the naked eye. Ink coverage up to 25% of the area is allowed for, unless otherwise stated. Clear Varnish Bold Solid Colours Foil Blocking Extremely effective bright metallic foil stamped images can be created on polypropylene. Blocks can also be hot stamped into the material without foil to give a blind branded image which is a high quality impression. Half tone images are not possible with this process and some very fine detail will be lost due to the effect of heat spread on the material. UV Litho Printing Used for all fine detail full colour process images, UV litho printing is particularly suited to longer runs. Minimum quantity is 500 units. A UV sealer is applied, as a final coat to protect the print, which leaves the surface glossy in appearance. A selective white image, or all over flood coat white, behind the full colour print produces a semi opaque background. For more opacity, a double pass of white can be used. Please enquire for prices for these extra passes or for special colours over and above the four colour process. Half Tone Image Underlapping Colours Gold Foil Blocking Hot Stamped Image Full Colour Litho Full Colour Litho with Selective White Digital Printing The introduction of full colour digital print technology allows a more competitive price against litho for the smaller runs. General Printing on clear or frosted polypropylene can either be on the face or on the reverse side of the material with the image showing through, depending on the desired effect. Generally the smoothest side of the material will be chosen to print onto, so this can effect which face of the material is on the outside of the item. Artwork Requirements We prefer pdf files with text saved to curves or outlines, with images to correct size, in position for the flat layout of the item required. Dimension drawings are available for all items in the polysmart collection. Trapping needs to be manually adjusted for silk screen printing when 2 or more colours touch, with lighter colours generally underlapping darker colours. Digital Printing Dark coloured materials will affect the print colours achieved when using translucent inks. Sometimes this necessitates an undercoat white print first, which will be costed as an extra colour. Some of the lighter silk screen ink colours are sufficiently opaque to produce a satisfactory result without the need for a white undercoat. A trap of 0.3mm is generally acceptable although more is preferred, to allow for thermal stretch on larger images during the printing process (see underlapping colours illustration above).
