Gephysica Prgram This prgram was t cnsist f a tta fied magnetic survey, a VLF eectrmagnetic survey as we as a shrt test survey using the MaxMin, hriznta p eectrmagnetic system. The magnetic and VLF surveys were cmpeted ver the entire prperty with the MaxMin survey being dne ver severa survey ines t test the vaidity f an airbrne respnse. Magnet i c Survey; This survey was cmpeted using the EDA mni pus system and specificatins fr this unit can be fund as Appendix A f this reprt. This unit is capabe f recrding and string magnetic and VLF data simutaneusy with vaues accurate t the decima pint. This wud greaty imprve the accuracy as we as the quaity f the cected data. A base statin was estabished in the survey grid at a fixed pint and tuned t a reference fied f 58946 gammas. The fied unit was as tuned at the same pint and with the same reference fied. The base statin unit was set t recrd and stre readings at 30 secnd intervas s as t mnitr any spiking r deviatin in the earth's diurna thrughut the day. - k -

At the end f each survey day, the fied and base units are cuped and the raw fied data is dumped t the base statin where it is merged. The interna micrprcessr then cmputes the diurna variatins in the earth's magnetic fied fr each survey grid pint by cmparing times at which readings were taken and cmputing any mid-interva vaues. This prcess is mst usefu in these nrthern atitudes where mre detaied mnitring f the diurna variatins are required. This crrectin is dne during the data dump segment f the unit. The retrieved data is the crrected data ready fr ptting. This ptted data has had a backgrund f 58000 gammas remved fr ease in ptting. Eectrmagnetic Prcedures VLF Survey: This survey was cmpeted using the EDA mni Pus System. Specificatins fr this unit can be fund as Appendix B f this reprt. The survey was cmpeted n the entire grid using a transmitter statin, Cuter, Maine, at a frequency f 2^.0 khz. A dip ange measurement was recrded at each statin n the grid. This data was then ptted direct nt the base maps and prfied. When interpreting this data, a true cnductr axis is nted as psitive readings t negative readings when traversing suth t nrth. - 5 "

Hriznta Lp Survey: This survey was cmpeted using the MaxMin System manufactured by Apex Parametrics f Trnt. Specificatins fr this system can be fund as Appendix C f this reprt. This survey is a tw-man cntinuusy prtabe EM System which is designed t measure bth the vertica and hriznta in-phase (IP) and quadrature phase (QP) cmpnents f the anmaus fied frm eectricay cnductive znes. Fr this survey, a ci separatin between the receiver and transmitter peratr was set at 100 meters, which wud give a theretica search depth range f 50-60 meters. The tw frequencies chsen were the 1777 and k bk H z channes which, in the past has prven t be quite sufficient in this area. The data was cected at the mid-pint f the peratrs ver the entire grid. ne in-phase and quadrature vaue was recrded at each statin. The data was then directy ptted nt the base maps. - 6 -

Base Maps The base maps were set-up at a scae f 1:5000 and a i the cected data was put n. Fr the magnetic data, 58000 gammas has been subtracted frm each reading fr ease m i n ptting. The data was then cntured at 200 gamma intervas wherever pssibe, The VLF map was prfied at cm t 20* and a cnductr axis have been nted. The MaxMin maps were as prfied at cm t 20* and M ne map was used fr each frequency. The pt pint is the mid-pint between the peratrs which accunts fr the 50 meter banks at the nrth and suth end f each ine. Survey Resuts The gephysica surveys were successfu in utining * severa structures f interest ver the entire grid. Certainy the main area f interest ies between ines 3900W and 1500W where the MaxMin survey has cated and utined the airbrne target. These resuts suggest that there are tw gd B eectrmagnetic targets situated at a depth f 25 t fc B meters, dipping sighty nrtheast t near vertica with gd cnductivity f 20 t 60 mhs. - 7 -

The main target wud be the tw parae znes striking acrss ines 3900W t 1500W at apprximatey 1000S. The secnd area f interest is the smewhat irreguar zne striking acrss ines 3300W t 1800W frm fcn t 250S. Mst prbaby these znes are representative f a typica suphide rich irn frmatin f unknwn cmpsitin. The magnetics fr bth f these MaxMin targets suggest the presence f irn frmatins, typicay a structure which appears t be highy distrted and fded with aternating widths f banded irn rich segments. The VLF respnse ver the same area as detected this structure and has extended it up t fcsw and 1500E. The VLF was as successfu in utining severa ther areas f interest. ne area being acrss ines 6300W t 0+00 at 2000S t 3000S. Again this zne is mst ikey an irn frmatin thugh nt as magnetic as the MaxMin respnses. Anther structure is apparent striking acrss ines 6000W t 2700W frn 1700N t the baseine. This feature as has gd magnetic signature again suggesting a typica irn frmatin. The remainder f the grid, frm ine 1500E t 8700E, shw an extremey cmpicated structure bady distrted, fded, sheared and r fauted. The magnetics fr this same sectin f grid shw a high degree f structura distrtin. - 8 -

Generay the majr structure appears t be striking at 130 degrees. Hwever, frm the magnetic survey there appears t be severa majr crss structura units in the vicinity f ines 600E-1800E t 4200E-5100E striking rughy nrth-suth. Recmmendat ins and Cncus ins The surveys were successfu in cating and utining the genera structures f the prperty as we as severa areas f majr crss structure. Certainy there appears t be a number f banded irn frmatins present n the prperty which at this pint are f unknwn cmpsitin but d prbaby cntain mixed cncentratins f suphide. A mre detaied expanatin f the VLF data is nt pssibe at this time because the survey is nt ny a gd t fr mapping structure but is as succeptibe t cay fied trughs, swamp cntacts, and creek beds. The anmaies cated by the MaxMin survey definitey appear t be egitimate bedrck respnses wrthy f further f w-up wrk. Therefre a recmmended fw-up prgram shud cnsist f detaied mapping in the area f the maxmin respnses and majr VLF respnses. As, sme f the mre predminant mag features shud be prspected. - 9 -

A gechemica survey may as be cnsidered ver the mre interesting areas in cnjuctin with the gegica survey. As fr the fw-up gephysics certainy mre maxmin shud be dne n the existing maxmin respnse t extend the zne t its imits. An IP Gradient survey shud be cnsidered n every secnd survey ine with in-between ines in anmaus areas. As, depending n the gradient resuts, a dipe-dipe IP survey using an "a" spacing f 100 feet and reading n-tif may be needed t better define the gradient resuts. Respectfuy submitted, 3. G.
