Institute of Internal Auditors Northwest Florida Chapter Audit Trails NOVEMBER 2015 Student Night at UWF A Great Success The annual IIA/ACFE Student Night at UWF was held on November 2. With about 50 people in attendance, Captain Paul Kelly of the Pensacola Police Department provided a well-received presentation on Pensacola White Collar Crime. Two exceptional UWF students received $750 scholarships from our Chapter. An excellent meal was served and we had the great opportunities to interact with students and faculty, and network with other audit and investigation professionals. Chapter President Dan Bevil is pictured here with scholarship recipient Karin Muzyka, an Accounting Senior. Also, awarded was Accounting graduate student Ted Trebing. Fall Seminar at NWFL State College Our Fall Seminar is right around the corner! It will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. About the Speakers Stephanie Dupree CIA, CFE, CPM, CGAP Stephanie Dupree began her professional career with MGT of America, Inc., conducting performance and human resources audits for state and local entities, including those in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North and South Carolina. She left MGT in 2004 to join the State of Florida workforce. Prior to joining The Florida Lottery, she served for 10 years in Offices of Inspector General with the Departments of Education and Transportation, and Florida Housing Finance Corporation. Her roles included manager, team leader and team member for various audits and investigations. She now serves in an accounting and consulting capacity for The Florida Lottery s Finance Division. Stephanie is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Public Manager (CPM), and Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP). She holds a Bachelor s degree from the University of Georgia and an Associate s degree from Georgia Perimeter College. Stephanie served as a board member for the Tallahassee Chapter of the IIA for 8 years, including holding officer roles such as President and Vice-President for Training. She has been Treasurer for the Tallahassee Chapter of the ACFE and active with the Tallahassee Chapters of the Association of Government Accountants (AGA) and Association of Inspectors General (AIG) as well. Over the past several years, Stephanie has provided training at local chapters of professional organizations such as the IIA, ACFE and AGA, as well as the Global ACFE conference held in San Antonio, Texas. Christi Hankins Florida Assistant Attorney General Christi Hankins has been part of the Florida Office of the Attorney General since February 2012. She works in the Pensacola Medicaid Fraud Control Office which investigates and prosecutes Medicaid provider fraud, abuse, neglect and exploitation of the elderly and disabled in Medicaid facilities. Christi has been an Assistant State Attorney for the 1st Judicial Circuit since 2000 and is still cross sworn with that office. She earned Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis School of Law in 2000 and Bachelor s Political Science Pre-Law from the University of West Florida in 1997. She in a native of Pensacola who received a high school diploma from Pensacola Christian in 1986. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee (inactive status) and Florida.

Marina Furbush Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) Marina Furbush is the Lead Cost/Pricing Analyst with the DCMA Aircraft Integrated Maintenance Operations Center in Crestview, Florida. She previously was a Senior Auditor with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) where she focused on Cost Accounting Standards and Contractor Business Systems. Marina has a DAIWA Level III certification in Contracting and was previously awarded a DAIWA Level II certification in Auditing. She has a MBA degree from St. Leo s University and a BSBA (Accounting Controllership and Finance) from UWF. Marina is a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Liz Jagla Expressworks International Liz Jagla has been consulting Fortune 500 clients on behavioral change implementation and creative communications for Expressworks - a behavior change management consulting firm with offices in Houston, San Ramon, London and Perth Australia - for over 10 years, and for over 25 years in the high tech and energy sectors. Her primary expertise is the adoption of IT, Information Management, and collaboration solutions. She also has proven expertise in project framing and assessments; stakeholder engagement and management processes; business readiness efforts; executive, corporate and project team communications; multimedia design and production; marketing communications collateral; and, training development. Since 2011, Liz has been the SharePoint Adoption Practice Lead for Expressworks. She is a recognized thought leader in helping organizations improve their user experience and adoption of their SharePoint and Office 365 solutions, and has authored and designed the Expressworks SharePoint Adoption Methodology and supporting SharePoint-based Adoption tool. Sharon Howell Air Force Audit Agency (AFAA) Sharon Howell is an auditor with the AFAA Gulf Coast Area Audit Office at Eglin AFB. She has been an auditor with the AFAA for 6 years. During that time, she has worked on a wide variety of process and fraud audits, working to implement effective changes in Air Force procedures. She has a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, with an emphasis in both Innovation Management and Operations Management.
