See diagram 1. 5. Drill 5/32 diameter pilot hole (two places) into the board and install two ¼ x 2 screws into the board (use end 2 holes in metal plate of weldment as a drill guide). 6. Place the third weldment with 8 drilled holes in plate against the board and locate a distance of 60 1/4 inches from plate side edge to same end of bull nose used in step 4 and at a distance of 2 1/8 inches from plate end edge to flat side of bull nose. See diagram 1. 7. Locate one rectangular board at a distance of 8 1/4 inches from plate side edge to end of board and at a distance of 7 1/2 inches from extreme curved side of secured bull nose at both ends of rect. board (Ref. ½ inch gap between sides of boards at each end). See diagram 1. 8. Drill 5/32 diameter pilot hole (six places) into the board and install six ¼ x 2 screws into the board (use second line of 2 holes in metal plate of weldment as a drill guide). 9. Locate second rectangular board at a distance of 8 1/4 inches from plate side edge to end of board and at a distance of 11 1/2 inches from extreme curved side of secured bull nose at both ends of rectangular board (Ref. ½ inch gap between sides of rectangular boards at each end). 10. Drill 5/32 diameter pilot hole (six places) into the board and install six ¼ x 2 screws into the board (use third line of 2 holes in metal plate of weldment as a drill guide). 11. Locate second bull nose board at a distance of 8 1/4 inches from plate side edge to end of board and at a distance of 15 1/2 inches from extreme curved sides of two bull nose boards at both ends (Ref. ½ inch gap between sides of rectangular boards at each end). 12. Drill 5/32 diameter pilot hole (six places) into the board and install six ¼ x 2 screws into the board (use fourth line of 2 holes in metal plate of weldment as a drill guide). 13. Check squareness of seat before tightening screws. MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Portable seat will rest on any flat, even surface -no mounting required. 2. Surface mount seat mounts with ½ inch anchors into concrete surface at dimensions as shown on diagram 2. 3. Embedded mount mounts by setting in filled holes at dimensions as shown on diagram 2. 22 23

ASSEMBLY AND MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS NATURAL PARK BENCH 1. Begin by setting up seat boards with two rectangular boards in center and one bull nose board on each side with curved section facing out. Set boards on flat work surface with best surface down as this will be the top of the seat. See diagram 1. 2. Use a square to line up all the board ends so they are parallel. Then locate one support casting flat side down on the boards at a distance of 21 3/4 inches from end of the boards to the edge of casting plate. Space the lugs of the support casting between the edges of the boards. Make certain there is a 3/8 inch gap between all boards. 3. Drill 5/32 diameter pilot hole (eight places) into the board and install eight ¼ x 1 screws into the board (use holes in casting as a drill guide). 4. Locate other support casting flat side down on the boards at a distance of 45 3/4 inches from end of the boards to the edge of casting plate. Space the lugs of the support casting between the edges of the boards. Make certain there is a 3/8 inch gap between all boards. 5. Drill 5/32 diameter pilot hole (eight places) into the board and install eight ¼ x 1 screws into the board (use holes in casting as a drill guide). 6. Locate one seat end casting at the ends of the boards, making sure that the spacing lugs of the casting all fit between the board edges. Press casting firmly against board ends to seat the casting. See diagram 2. Use a hand square to line up board on plate. 7. Lay the support tubes onto the center support and gently seat the ends of each tube into the receiving hole on the end casting. See diagram 2. 8. Install two 1/2 x 1 1/2 cap head screws through spacers into the threaded end of the tube and tighten just enough to make sure tubing will stay in receiving hole of casting. See detail A. 9. Locate the other seat end casting at the other ends of the boards, making sure that the spacing lugs of the casting all fit between the board edges. Press casting firmly against board ends to seat the casting. See diagram 2. 10. Install two 1/2 x 1 1/2 cap head screws through spacers into the threaded end of the tube and tighten just enough to make sure tubing will stay in receiving hole of casting. See detail A. 11. Set the seat upright on a flat level surface and tighten the four cap screws securely seating the tubing firmly in the receiving holes of the castings. 12. Mount the seat using 4 concrete anchors at dimensions shown in diagram 3 24 25

ASSEMBLY AND MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS NATURAL PARK BENCH WITH BACK 1. Loosely assemble bench end castings to back support tube. See diagram 1. 2. Lay one end casting back side down and attach back support tube. Place support tube into the back receiving hole of the casting and fasten with a 1/2 x 1 1/2 cap screw through a plastic spacer, through the casting and into the threaded end of the support tube. See diagram 1. Make sure the cap is snug but do not tighten. 3. Lay the second end casting back side down and attach back support tube following the same procedure as step 3. 4. Place the center support casting(s) at the proper location(s) on the back support tube. Rest support against the tubing. Reference from inside edge of one end casting to inside edge of support casting. 5. 6 foot bench center supports at 21 inches to edge of first support and 45 inches to edge of second support. 6. Place bull nose board (best side facing you) nose down, into the lower pocket of one end casting and then into the lower pocket of the other end casting. Make certain that the support casting(s) behind the board and the radius portion of casting(s) is on the tubing. May have to spread the end castings outward at upper ends in order to get board in between the end casting flanges (loosen the cap screws a little, if needed). See diagram 2. 7. Place boards into one pocket of an end casting and then into the other pocket in the order shown until last board for seat is in place. Keep best side facing out. Keep boards in front of the support casting(s). Make sure that boards center between the lugs on the support casting(s) 8. Install the front support tube between the two end castings seating the tubing in the radius portion of the support casting(s) and fasten with a 1/2 x 1 1/2 cap screw through a plastic spacer, through the casting, and into the threaded ends of the support tube. See diagram 3. 9. Hand snug all cap screws to square up the frame made by the tubing and end castings. 10. Line up the support castings on the back so they are vertical (parallel with end casting) and properly dimensioned. 11. From the back, drill a 5/32 pilot hole approximately 1/2 inch deep and install a 1/4 x 1 screw into the seat boards at each slotted hole in the support casting(s). 12. Set the bench upright to finish the assembly. 13. Place a bull nose board (best side facing out) nose down, into the lower pocket of one end casting and then into the lower pocket of the other end casting. Make certain that the support casting is behind the board. May have to spread the end castings outward at upper ends in order to get board in between the end casting flanges (loosen the cap screws slightly, if needed). See diagram 3. 14. 1Continue to place boards into one pocket of an end casting and then into the other pocket in the order shown until last board for back is in place. Keep best side facing out. Keep boards in front of the support casting(s). Make sure that boards center between the lugs on the support casting(s) 15. Tighten the four cap screws to secure the end castings to the support tubes. Make certain that the alignment between the end castings is plumb when tightening so bench does not rock. 16. From the back side drill a 5/32 pilot hole approximately 1/2 inch deep and install a 1/4 x 1 screw into the back boards at each slotted hole in the support casting(s). 17. The bench is now ready for mounting. Mounting is shown in diagram 4. 26 27
