Part 3: Connect to Existing Data In Family Tree we add our closest deceased ancestors to data already entered by other researchers.
Find my closest deceased ancestor already in Family Tree Either Or Search for your closest deceased ancestors, starting with your grandfathers. Advantage: less chance of adding duplicates of people already in Family Tree. Disadvantage: need to check for each of your ancestral lines. Note: may still discover duplicate people later. Add your closest deceased ancestors, one at a time. Carefully check for duplicates after each addition, and merge them. Recommended for recent immigrants from other nations. Disadvantage: you may not yet be trained in finding and merging duplicate people.
