Scan Tool & Mold is a full capability injection molder with highly skilled personnel, modern equipment and an intense focus on customer satisfaction. We have invested in advanced technology over the years to ensure that we meet or exceed our customers' expectations. Our personal touch sets us apart from our competition such as customer service representatives that develop a close working relationship to ensure the best approach to our customers needs. Our dedication to quality is demonstrated in part by our ISO 9001 certification and our use of the latest state of the art inspection equipment. From our first day in business, we have been committed to the proposition that every customer, large or small, should be treated with the utmost attention to their needs. We want to work with you and earn your trust & loyalty over the long term by providing price, quality, delivery and communication that is superior to our competitors. This commitment has been the key to our success and growth over the past 36 years. Scan Tool & Mold's engineering team possesses a strong blend of mold design expertise and innovative engineering skills. We encourage our customers to get us involved in the early stages of the product design process. By reviewing a prototype design before it has been finalized, it is possible for us to make suggestions that will help reduce tooling and production costs. Our engineering team is equipped with the latest up-to-date software such as Solidworks and Mastercam. We can accept geometry from customers in the form of IGES, STEP and Solidworks native files or we can create the 3D geometry from your blueprints. The ability to work with 3D model geometry streamlines the mold design and construction process.
Quality is the foundation of our business and Scan Tool & Mold takes it very seriously. Our standards require that all parts pass First Article Inspection prior to production approval, followed by First Piece Inspection on critical dimensional and visual characteristics at the start of every production run. We employ independent auditors to objectively evaluate the effectiveness of our Quality Management System. Our philosophy is that quality cannot be inspected into the product but rather, that quality must be designed and built into the product. We develop process plans for every part so that the organization knows what is critical, to the customers and also to us. We use a variety of gauging tools that provide timely measurements of critical quality and performance attributes. We are dedicated to providing our customers with high quality plastic injection molded parts. It is our policy to meet or exceed our customers' expectations. Our entire company is committed to providing on-time delivery, personal customer service and competitive pricing. We maintain a quality management system that meets our customers' requirements as well as our own demanding requirements. We are devoted to continuous improvement with our processes and the abilities of our people.
Scan Tool & Mold has injection molding machines ranging in size from 28 to 300 tons. This wide range of machines can handle virtually any plastic part from the size of a grain of rice to a part roughly the size of a computer keyboard. Our wide range of machines help us match the machine to the application so we not only get the job done right but also get it done economically. We can perform virtually every type of molding operation from straight "drop in a box" molding to insert over-molding and fully automated production. Our high level of automation helps us offer very competitive pricing and also improves quality by reducing handling. The majority of our molding machines are equipped with robotic sprue pickers and automated material handling and drying equipment. Several of our molding machines are set up as completely automated work cells with 3 axis robots which have the ability to remove the parts from the mold and perform secondary operations from part finishing to packaging. All of our machines are tied into our IQMS real-time ERP system that tracks every operation from quotation to finished product shipment. We can provide our customers with a complete service supply chain. For example, for a part with a metal insert, we will perform insert molding and all secondary operations and coordinate the entire process to make sure everything is done right and on time.
Our full service on-site tool room allows Scan Tool & Mold to not only build prototype and production molds for our customers, but also allows for prompt attention to any problems that might arise on the production floor. Our tool room features EDM equipment from Agie-Charmilles including a Robofil Wire EDM machine & hole popper and 2 Roboform CNC Sinker machines with tool changers. We also feature three - 3 axis CNC machining centers including a Bostomatic high speed mill used primarily for graphite & copper electrode work and also to machine hardened steel mold cavities. In addition we also have a myriad of other tooling equipment including additional EDM machines, surface/wet grinders, 2 axis CNC mills. Please refer to our facilities list for further details.
