SYNOPSIS ON SPEAKERS TOPIC From Cybersecurity to Data Analytics & Artificial Intelligence - the Test Case for Smart Cities by Prof Isaac Ben-Israel, Chairman, Israel Space Agency & Israel National Council for R&D The use of Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence has presented tremendous potential for solving many urban challenges, such as traffic congestion and power supply efficiency. As data analytics and connectivity become an integral part of critical city infrastructures, there will be concerns for security and it calls for Security-by-Design. The nature of this challenge transcends technology applications and calls for Government regulation. How Not to Get Bankrupt from Data Analytics by Mr Jeff Jonas, Founder & CEO, Senzing Jeff is a much-sought after speaker, a former IBM Fellow and now Founder & CEO of Senzing. He will share with us how not to get bankrupt from data analytics. He will expound on contextual computing through real case studies, and will also give insights into specific techniques required to detect the most clever of bad actors. The ET Brain - Now, Smarter by Dr Derek Wang, Chief Cloud Architect, Alibaba Cloud International City Brain is a new infrastructure designed to support cities' future sustainable development. The core innovation utilises real-time and a complete range of data resources to optimize the city's public resources operations. Dr. Derek Wang will introduce the whole architecture of Alibaba Cloud's ET City Brain and some best practises of developing it with local governments and ecosystems. Smart Cameras for Smart Cities by Dr Wu Shuang, Research Scientist, Yitu Technology When coupled with the right algorithms, cameras can be intelligent sensors that are essential for smart cities. Yitu has pioneered the application of advanced face recognition, vehicle identification and other video understanding algorithms in several city-scale projects. Dr. Wu will share some first-hand insights from developing these systems to solve real-world challenges. Data to Actionable Insights Getting Your Organisation Started on AI by Mr Bill Lee, Co-founder & Managing Director, Azendian Bill will share how data analytics are heralding business transformation in organisations and why some organisations are more successful while others fail when adopting this critical capability. The key is in understanding what analytics & machine learning can and cannot achieve, and why asking the right question will determine the success or failure of such transformation. These will help organisations prioritise their analytics investment and develop practical steps to become more data ready and knowledge driven.
