Fast Tap consists of a similar pantographic arm carrying an air motor which will tap blind holes as well as through holes, both vertically and horizontally. The standard 48 (1200mm) reach of the arm can easily be extended by up to 20 (500mm) if required, ensuring fast positioning of the tap relative to the hole. This means that larger fabrications or plates can remain stationary whilst the tap can be positioned within an 11 ft (3400mm) circle. Taps are held in the widely available Bilz style quick change tap drivers but the machine is capable of other common operations such as reaming, chamfering, countersinking, spot facing, helicoil insertion and stud making as well as assembly work like screw and nut driving. Fast Tap realistically removes tapping from expensive CNC machines and is significally quicker than hand tapping without needing skilled labour. XYZ Part No. Max. The ratio between the worm and the worm gear is 40:1. Hardened and ground spindle is rigidly held in a taper roller bearing. Worm is hardened and ground. The swivel head can be locked in any angle from 10 below horizontal to 90 vertical. Precision fitting to base assures smooth rotation.
