The anchor and the hole diameter are the same. The advanced design of the collar reduces the likelihood of the anchor spinning. Proper installation requires cleaning out the hole. Install using a rque wrench set the suggested level as provided in the instruction sheet. The Ultrawedge is used in a wide variety of structural applications, including fastening sheet metal, steel, aluminum angles or wood concrete. Pipehanging, tiltups, bridges, elevar equipment, conveyors and highway construction frequently require the wedge type anchor. The Ultrawedge Anchor is ideal for installing machinery, hand rails, dock bumpers & srage racks, etc. Ultrawedge anchors are sold unassembled with the appropriate nuts and washers. 16 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WEDGE S 1. Always wear safety glasses. 2. Follow the drill manufacturer s safety instructions. 3. Use only solid carbidetipped bits meeting the ANSI B tip diameter as shown below in Table Drill the hole perpendicular the work surface. To assure full holding power, do not ream the hole or allow the drill wobble. 5. Drill the hole as deep as the full length of the anchor, but not closer than two anchor diameters the botm (opposite surface of the concrete). 6. Clean the hole using compressed air and a wire brush. Assemble the washer and nut on the anchor so the nut is recessed slightly below the head of the anchor. 8. Tap the anchor through the fixture (must be 1/8" larger than diameter of the anchor) and in the hole making sure the nut and washer rests solidly against the fixture or tap the anchor in the hole and then place bracket over the anchor. 9. A clean hole is necessary for proper performance. 7. Drop anchor in hole and tap flush with surface (anchor can be set flush with base material or subset). 8. Using setting ol, set the dropin with several sharp hammer blows until expansion plug botms out in hole. 9. Position the fixture. 10. Insert bolt and tighten. CONCRETE SCREW 1. Always wear safety glasses. 2. Follow drill manufacturer s safety instructions. 3. Use only solid carbidetipped bits meeting NSI B tip diameter. 4. Drill the hole perpendicular the work surface. To assure full holding power, do not ream the hole or allow the drill wobble. 5. Drill the hole a minimum of 1/4" deeper than the maximum embedment depth of the anchor (minimum anchor embedment should be 1"). 6.
