Review the instruction pages in their entirety to prepare the required tools Warning: The included J-Bolts must be used during installation to secure the crossover tool box to the truck bed. Do NOT use self-tapping screws on crossover tool boxes. Self-tapping screws can be used only on chest style tool boxes being installed to the truck bed. Premium J-Bolts for crossover tool boxes are available online at that have more surface area and molded to your truck bed rails. Tie downs designed specifically for Ford aluminum body trucks also are available. The tool box warranty is void if one of these securing methods is not used. Note: Dee Zee tool boxes are NOT air tight. An air-tight seal allows condensation to form inside of the box, causing the contents to be susceptible to mold or rust. Dee Zee boxes feature various bulb seals and foam gaskets on the lid to help resist weather elements. Should the weather stripping become damaged, please contact our customer service for replacement options at: Tool box locks are provided as a theft deterrent and they should always be engaged to prevent easy access to the contents of your tool box when not in use. Contents stored in the tool box are the responsibility of the user and Dee Zee disclaims responsibility of theft. Dee Zee does not insure any loss of contents. Cleaning: To be entitled to all warranty rights offered with the product, Dee Zee tool boxes need to be cleaned regularly with a mild detergent. Do NOT use abrasive cleaners. 4 TOOLS REQUIRED TIN SNIPS WRENCH/RATCHET 3/8", 1/2" ALLEN WRENCH SUPPLIED IN KIT UTILITY KNIFE OR SCISSORS 1 Place one of the TOP/BOTTOM pieces [A] with the bends pointing up. Take one of the SIDE pieces [B] and loosely attach it to the bottom piece with two 6mm bolts [E] and washers [F]. The bolts will only attach to the middle holes at this time. Do NOT completely tighten. DZ OF 8 8/10/2011

5 2 Loosely attach the other SIDE piece [B] with two 6mm bolts [E] and washers [F]. Do NOT completely tighten. 3 Insert the BACK piece [C] on one end. The upper and lower corners must be inside the bends of the side pieces. The opening of the louver should be facing down. DZ OF 8 8/10/2011

6 4 Insert the FRONT piece [D] on the other end. Like the back piece in the previous step, The upper and lower corners must be inside the bends of the side pieces. The catch for the latch must be on top when installed. The latch bolt on the door has intentionally been left loose. It will be tightened in a later step. 5 Place the remaining TOP/BOTTOM [A] on to the box. DZ OF 8 8/10/2011

7 6 Thread the remaining 6mm bolts [E] and washers [F] into the six holes left on each side. Shift the pieces of the body as necessary to align the holes for the bolts. Once all of the bolts have been started on both sides, tighten all bolts with the Allen wrench [G] provided. DZ OF 8 8/10/2011

8 7 This is an optional step. You can choose to take the EDGE TRIM [H] and install it around the front opening of the dog box. Start the edge trim at the bottom middle of the opening and clip it over the material edge all around. Cut off any excess edge trim at the seam with tin snips. DZ OF 8 8/10/2011

9 8 There are 3 different options for the door. If you want the door to close freely without applying any pressure to it, do not install either of the gaskets provided. If you want there to be some slight pressure against the door when it is closed, peel the paper from the adhesive on the FOAM GASKET [I] and apply it to the door as shown below. If you want there to be a seal around the three edges of the door, peel the plastic from the adhesive on the BULB SEAL GASKET [J], cut and apply it to the door as shown below. DZ OF 8 8/10/2011

10 9 Using a 3/8" and 1/2" wrench or socket, tighten the latch bolt in place. If you have not used any gasket with the door, you will want the latch pin installed towards the outside of the door. If you have used either gasket with the door, you will want the latch pin installed towards the inside of the door. DZ OF 8 8/10/2011
