Project: Apron Overview: Design and make an apron with pocket and ties from a basic pattern, then bind it for a polished look. 3 Project: Cushion Overview: Design and make scatter cushions using a variety of techniques including appliqué and quilting. Skills: Safe textile skills, set up/use a sewing machine, apply decoration, learn to cut accurately. Project: LED Light Overview: Use design, woodwork and CAD/CAM skills through use of a laser cutter to create an LED lamp. Skills: Introduction/development of CAD/CAM use, basic woodworking skills, the design and finish process. Project: Pewter Cast Jewellery Overview: Use laser-cut templates, cuttlefish carving/pressing and resin to design and cast your own designs. Skills: Learn health and safety while working with molten metal and COSHH.

4 Project: Hand Built Ceramics Overview: Learn a range of hand-building techniques including pinch pots, coil pots and slab work. Skills: Clay preparation, decorating skills like slip work, under-glazes, impressing, incising and glazing. *2 Week Unit* Project: Mug Tree & Mug Overview: Cut and plane the octagonal base and the trunk, using dowels as branches. Use transfer paper and a mug press for the mug. Skills: Safe use of power tools, learn skills of measuring, cutting and assembling, design mug. Project: Print making Overview: Create dynamic multi-coloured prints with the exciting Collagraph print-making technique. Skills: Build textured ink plates using a variety of mediums, techniques, and colour and design skills.

5 Project: CNC Clock Overview: Learn computer-aided design, master using a laser cutter, and design/create a clock. Skills: Introduction/development of CAD/CAM use, through to the design and finish process. Project: Gumball Dispenser Overview: Using hardwood, you ll cut out various-sized pieces using different techniques before assembling it all with the sweet bottle. Skills: master skills such as dowelling and use machines such as the pillar drill and router. Project: Mosaic Mirror Overview: Develop design skills using a mix of tiles and broken crockery, then mosaic a mirror frame. Skills: Learn design development, and get an introduction to tile cutting, laying and grouting.

6 Project: Acrylic Jewellery Overview: Use a basic vector computer programme to design, then cut designs from acrylic with laser cutter. Skills: Introduction/development of CAD/CAM use, the design and finish process, basic jewellery assembly. Project: Bottle Opener Design Overview: Learn basic metalworking skills, and create a functional, sleek bottle opener design. Skills: Health and safety for metal work, measuring, marking, cutting, testing, modifying and joining. Project: Seven Wood Money Box Overview: Choose the woods, then glue, clamp, cut and plane to assemble the sides, before adding plywood top/bottom, slot and bung. Skills: Safe woodworking skills and tool use, learn angle measurement with a miter gauge, cutting, gluing and clamping.

7 Project: Noughts & Crosses Game Overview: Measure, cut and finish the nine blocks and the frame/base before lasercutting the design and finishing with oil or paint. Skills: Safe woodworking skills and tool use, learn to measure properly, and learn to design in 2D before laser cutting. Project: Jigsaw Coasters Overview: Choose between making your coaster manually by cutting, sanding and finishing, or by 2D design and laser cutter. Skills: Either learn to design in 2D or learn manual woodworking skills like measuring, sawing, sanding and oiling. Project: Art Deco Time Pieces Overview: Find a design, choose your hardwoods, then measure, cut, glue and clamp. Finish off with the base and the battery pack. Skills: Measuring skills, basic woodworking skills and safe use of various woodwork tools. Learn to varnish or oil for a perfect finish.

8 Project: Maze Game Overview: Design in 2D and laser cut two acrylic frames and a maze track before inserting ball and gluing/screwing frame. Skills: Learn 2D design and use of laser cutter and careful assembly using glue and screws. Project: Slatted Ceiling Shade Overview: 2D design and laser cut your chosen shape with top and bottom holes, then thread at both ends and add bulb clip/fitter to finish. Skills: Learn to design, manufacture and reproduce using laser cutter, learn to assemble and adjust for the perfect finish. Project: Up-cycled planter Overview: Design and create a planter from old pallets, using various woodworking skills and tools. Skills: Safe use of power tools, measuring, cutting, sanding, drilling, preparing and painting.

9 Project: Jewellery Box Overview: Making boxes is as old as time, but with laser cutting the only design limitation is your imagination. Skills: Undertake a CAD/CAM tutorial then design, manufacture, assemble & finish a unique creation. Project: Copper Jewellery Overview: Learn the necessary copper jewellery skills to produce rings, earrings and pendants. Skills: Health & Safety, plus basic metalwork - piercing, filing, drilling, annealing, soldering and doming. Project: Heat Press T-Shirts Overview: Learn how to create a logo and use printing equipment to heat press your new design. Skills: Colour theory and design, and CAD/CAM skills.
