8 Applications BG/NT-CNC The grinding machines of the series BG/NT-CNC are employed for bevel grinding of e.g. knives, scissors, hand tools and similar workpieces. 32 Strip grinding machines SVZ-CNC Serrated edge grinding on up to 44 strips simultaneously The grinding line of the series SVZ-CNC achieves a serrated edge grinding on metal strips. Up to 44 strips with a maximum strip width of 1,5 mm can be machined simultaneously. 34 Strip edging machines BKB Strip edging by metal-cutting optimizing the weld seam The production of saw blades with improved shape stability consists of joining a soft steel strip as support to a strip of HSS for cutting. The condition of the strip edge of the supporting strip as well as the cutting strip determines the quality of the final product. At this point, the modular strip edge trimming machines are used to clean the strip edge by removing the burr and machining a right angle. 34 Machining of strips

35 If the slit edge is the operational edge in the final product, the condition of the slit edge is inadequate for the downstream operation. 36 Profile generating centers LP-CNC The profile generating center of the series LP-CNC streamlines the machining processes in the field of polygonal generating and tooth profiling. The rotary machining process of the profile generating center combines drilling and milling technology. The machines incorporate an electronic synchronisation system which controls the workpiece spindle and the tool spindle. The fully integrated CNC control is easily programmable and guarantees maximum positioning accuracy. Due to short machining and storing times, cycle times are dramatically improved. With the hollow spindle system cylindrical parts can easily be fed through the spindle. With a large sliding door the machine is designed for easy operation, change over and maintenance. The manual swivelling tool unit of the LP-CNC can be swivelled from polygonal generating to tooth profiling without changeover. The toolslide is designed to accommodate additional tools for a variety of operations such as drilling, milling, threading etc. 36 Profile generating
