If each department offers 25 programs that s 250,000 recreation programs. If just 1/3 of all total sales for Wii, Xbox 360, PS3 were sold in the U.S..that 108,000,000 consuls. 432 GAMING CONSOLES for every 1 Recreation Program It gets worse

12 OTHER FINDINGS ABOUT YOUTH AND GAMING Children spend more time watching TV than any single activity except sleep. Video games to don t appear to cause obesity. Obese youth are drawn to electronic gaming. 33% skipped chores to play. 25% play(ed) to escape their problems. 23% skipped school work to play. 21% did poorly in school or on test because of playing.

14 NOT ALL GAMING IS BAD Active gaming (looked at Wii Bowling, Tennis Boxing) Significantly increase total body movement. There is significant difference between active and inactive games. There is no significant difference in total body movement between active games. Seniors (results even with an inactive gaming) Gaming can enhanced memory, coordination, reaction time and concentration. Improved emotional and social well being.
